Can anyone recommend a nice place for lunch half way between Ourimbah and Awaba? Eye-wink

Brian's picture

I have my niece and nephew over for a Easter egg hunt Saturday morning so I can't make Ourimbah and will be loaded up on chocolate for Saturday arvo Smiling

There's a nice Scottish restaurant on the F3 just past Ourimbah. Sticking out tongue

Do they allow sweaty MTB riders in? Eye-wink

I'm thinking more like a cafe that does an all day breakie Smiling

BT's picture

Except this place only serves breakie up until 10:30am. It's easy to find....Just look out for the golden arches.

I'm sure there would be a cafe in Morisset

Ah, I'll go do some training at the Oaks on Sunday so will skip this one. Should still be at Ourimbah in the morning though Smiling

Awaba = sweet flowing single track Smiling
Did a short first lap to then meet up with Harry who then joined us for the next two. The track is so nice it would be good to have something like this on the Northern Beaches. We did the new section and there was no way I was going to make that climb.

Well done to Dicko who did the Ourimbah-Awaba combo.

Profile below excludes about 4km of the first lap as I forgot to start the timer.

great ride today with good company & an awesome track. what more could you ask for? that hill is a killer.

Dicko's picture

Yep thanks boys for the ride. Good to do some laps with some good company.

Hey Brian, does your garmin indicate the elevation of that climb from the bottom to the top.

Wayne

Brian's picture

Where we stopped to have a chat was 80m elevation and the top is 143m elevation with the distance travelled about 570m.

Maybe if I ask nicely Rob will add it to the hill profiles http://nobmob.com/hill_profiles unless I am missing something and I can do it. Smiling

has to be Awaba - really enjoyed the ride with you guys.

Unreal how much work has gone in there in such a short time since my last visit (thanks trail fairies) and that new hill is certainly a challenge that I hope to get on top of sooner than later.

this is also my new favourite track, even better than Ourimbah. especially with that long downhill run after the climb,so much fun.

I know I sound like a broken record, but it is only going to get better. And longer.

Still, I love reading these comments and they are being passed back onto the build crew.
