Air filters
These used to be pretty popular for couriers riding round London IIRC. The sort you wear over your mouth to protect your precious lungs.
I haven't seen them about over here, anyone use them? Anyone know whether they're any good or just pointless?
Following buses isn't much fun in the fragrance and possibly health department...
Ta,
Matt.

I once worked as a bike courier and I can't work out if my second head is from the lead poisoning or cause I use to live in Tassie? :\
Seriously, I met a Pommie courier who had been doing it for 10 years back home, and he was suffering from Lead poisoning.... not a pretty sight.
Some of the blokes wore masks but if you wear nylon, cotton etc they soak up moisture fairly quickly and therefore trap all the nasty particles in them, and have to be replaced every half hour. The best ones to use are the industrial ones that spraypainters and the like use. Those are the only ones that do a really good job of filtering out the junk.. If you can put up with the uncomfortableness and the buildup of condensation dripping down your chin.
Thanks for the response, I guess now everyone's unleaded that's not such a problem. A good pointer with the couriers though, you don't see many (if any) of them wearing masks these days, maybe there's just no point? Anyone know otherwise?
Ta.
Found this while trawling for gear a while ago, rather Mortal Kombat-ish... and can be bought here.
Hey Matt,
Firstly, What bloody fire trails are you riding following buses?
Tell me and ill report them to the NP&W as i'm sure they would have a bulldozer in the area that would see them off.
I came across these Chem Bio Reservoir Camelbaks- I think you need one
