Glenrock Build Day
Meet at "the gate opposite 194 scenic drive" entrance to the powerline easement at 9.30am so we can be down there working by 10.
See: http://www.setbb.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=1577&...
Yes we're going out again.
The local NPWS rangers are wanting to take some visitors, NPWS managers out to look at the trails during the second week of May.
These guys have a lot of say in the funding and future of our volunteer group and the mountainbike trails project. So we'd like to show them some good work.
We will be working on the 'Shit Happens' site again, to tidy it up and try to have it completely finished.
(By the way shouldn't we change that name now that it's not shit anymore?)Also over on BJ's some of the corners are still givivg us trouble so we'll try to get some work done there as well. We really need to fix this up as the preffered Gravity Trail to take the downward pressure off SH's.
This will be a NPWS supported day with BBQ lunch and the Trees in Newcastle people coming along to plant trees around the trail.
Meet at "the gate opposite 194 scenic drive" entrance to the powerline easement at 9.30am so we can be down there working by 10.
Bring the usual stuff - shoes, gloves, hat, sunnies and yellow GTA shirt if you have one.
Bring your own drinking water.
All tools will be provided.Oh, and ask your friends to come along if they want.
Also with the volunteer group moving along now anyone who has been to some of our build days and wants to get out at other times with there own group or just with me drop me a PM or post on here and we'll try to organise something. I have access to the tools at any time.
Look forward to seeing you there,
Mick.
Were you there and have a story to tell?

Thanks for sticking that up rob.
Basically this build day is consolidating the recent works on the climb "shit happens" as well as working on some of the berms and drainage on the corresponding descent "bj's surprise". Trees In Newcastle will also be on hand to help by doing tree planting around the trails.
we will also be planning the b-line on the entrance to bj's but may not get it started depending on man power. We want to make sure we can finish any work we start.
Hopefully these works will encourage the use of these trails in the correct direction.
As noted lunch is provided by the NPWS.
