Awaba recently got a green light and they're relatively close.
BT, are you in as you said you will confirm closer to the date?
Awaba and glenrock cope with rain in very different ways.
Awaba drains a lot better and only holds water in bad conditions it dries quickly and tends to get less rain.
Glenrock on the other hand holds the water a lot more and takes a lot longer to dry out. So don't assume that because awaba is sweet that glenrock will be. I'd be guessing if the weather stays like this glenrock for the most part will be good. If we get rain though it could be an issue.
...I'm a 70% chance as of right now.
Having never been there I had a feeling Glenrock could probably be a fair bit rockier than Awaba, hence taking longer to dry out?
Glenrock tomorrow, about 3pm will update status
I rode around the fire trails on wed wet but rideable....still plenty of mud and clay on single trails... we have had sun and wind scent then should be ok if rain stays away i can handle the mud just don't want to damage trails
I'll be up there Sat night visiting rellos, might try and sneak out in the morning to join this one.
Will advise as Sunday gets closer.......
you know you want to
I haven't rode with your groups before but I enjoy riding Glenrock, would be great to explore with people that know the trails. Will see you Sunday if it's okay to tag along.
Thanks
Pikey, see you Sunday morning
don't get too exited fellas it was a bog hole on Tues, I'm going to check it later on today
If it ends up being no good I'll cancel this and post one for Awaba. I see there is track maintenance on Sunday but I assume that would just close one of the loops?
Cheers
Brian
Awaba will be completely open, works are on new trails. I think glenrock will be ok if the weather stays like this.
I'm coming along with Harry for a guided tour.
Peter
is out & wind hangs around Glenrock will be mostly dry except for some avoidable & non avoidable bog holes &/or water on some trails
see you there, which ever track you decide on.
I might bail on this one and go somewhere a bit closer. I'd rather plan it knowing 100% that the trail conditions are good. If I backflip again by Saturday night I'll let you know.
I'm riding tomorrow (if track is up to it) and will post up track conditions
@BT, If the track is no good by the reports from Saturdays ride I will cancel this and post one at Awaba.
I'll be away from a PC now so if the ride is cancelled/changed someone please text me. Thanks
I've got the Reign so I hope this is a fun ride not training
Harry I'll bring your esky up
See ya's at 9.00
Pikey
Boys, just got back from the Glenrock trailalliance ride and the trails are in very good condition. So get out there and have some fun. Cheers.
Excellent. Looking forward to this one.
Count me in too if you dont mind
Don't mind at all. See you tomorrow.
police are out in force, i see three cars pulled over in the space of a klm. i was pulled over for no bike plate, fine soon followed! d'oh. so just letting you know if your heading up that way tommorow.
Great ride today. Can't believe 18 people turned up for this. I been wanting to ride this place for ages and it was awesome to finally get some good weather. The track is in great condition with only a small amount of standing water. I OTB'd in the biggest way I have ever done at the top of snakes & ladders. A branch caught my front brake lever stopping me instantly sending me flying. I think I will be sore tomorrow. Anyway, this was only to be topped when crossing the creek (sorry can't remember your name). I hope you are ok because I was right behind you and it looked like it hurt big time.
My GPS stopped so the profile isn't complete
One of the best interesting fast flowing trails around.
Lots of fast niggly singletrack and techy bits. Some classic head plants also on display on the day!.
Thanks Harry for the tour.
Peter
Sorry i had to miss it work got in the way grr...So what was the glenrock virgins first impressions of the trails?
Awesome place. From the gate we went left and it was amazing straight from the start. I'm still a bit sore today from my OTB but only minor bruising with a bit of lost skin.
