Calling all 575 owners

My 575 is going on a year and a half and I'm considering rebuilding her. The master rebuild kit (bearings for all linkages) cost $$$$ from Yeti. Has anyone pulled their bearings and just cleaned and repacked them or do you always go with fresh new bearings? Or have you buy individual bearings from a bearings shop and replace as required?

Cheers
Phil

When I pull the bearings out I check them for wear and then regrease or replace from the bearing shop (or ebay). That said I haven't found any that needed replacing on this bike. The one thing that does wear on mine is the nylon insert in the RP23 shock, but that's cheap to replace, but it wears out before the bearings.

I replace my bearings in the BB fairly often, but only because the ones from Shimano are so rubbish.

If you need a bearing shop when I worked in Brookvale (about 8 years ago) we used to go to ABC Bearings http://www.abcbearings.com.au/about_us.htm. I have no idea on their range now.

+ 1 to ABC, dad has been getting bearings from them for years and they have everything under the sun there.

Duncan from DYIMTB brings in the enduro bearing kits for most bikes
Just had a look and .... yeah even his 2010 yeti kits are up there.... the ones to suit the older models are very reasonable

Anyway your local bike shop should be able to order them in off Dunc

Just had replaced all bearings on my yeti 575. Set me back about $140 for parts plus labour at Belrose Bicycles.

Some of my bearings were almost ceased. Bike feels like brand new now. Its amazing what you get used to over time.

Adrian did a great job at the shop.

Ok to those that raced the CP over the weeekend Check all of your bearings in you bike!!!!

I just checked V bearings as she said the back end felt a bit stiff, It turns out ALL of the bearings had ceased!!! Time to get a set of enduro bearings I reckon.

This is not related just to Yeti either. Anybody who rode a dually should check all the bearings.

Thanks guys, and has anyone actually replaced them yourself? Was it easy to do?

I pull my bearings out all the time. Check the yeti site for the torque settings and instructions. It's easy.
