Awaba this Friday
I am going to be riding Awaba on Friday (around 11am) if anyone is interested in joining me. The pace will be slow as I will be there with my brother who doesn't normally ride and did his first ride in 2 years last Saturday. If there is any interest I will post a ride but will be there anyway.

I'm going to be doing an Ourimbah > Awaba > Tinonee session on either Thursday or Friday. Would be good to ride with you at Awaba, I just need to plan my times.
Even with the rain yesterday there was only one puddle. The track is in awesome condition and it's nice to go for a ride on a Friday
Has it been fixed? It was a month since I've been there but it was busted then.
Not sure what you mean. We did the big loop and then the smaller one twice and there wasn't anywhere that looked out of action.
It has been removed. Too dangerous and not worth repairing.
The options at this point are to rebuild in a much more substantial way, or put in a large dirt berm.
Where abouts was this?
I thought it was built quite well and it was a lot of fun, so I vote for a more substantial rebuild!
@ Brian, it was towards the end. I'm sure sammydog can descrive it better though!
@Sammy
yep with no wall ride - at speed this section is tricky - caught me out the other day as I was expecting something at the bottom - all I got was a couple of witches hats
+1 for Another wall ride
d
As I said, we are planning either a beefed up wall ride or a large earth berm.
Without one of those features its not a nice corner and its a long way from being sustainable.
For brian, this is what you missed......
The wall ride was taken down?? Why was this, too dangerous?
I hope this doesn't come across as being...something, but is there anyway whoever builds this next berm actually tests the corner during construction, or be willing to modify it should it not be what it could be? I loved the concept, but the fast line was always low and the whole corner was not very natural. I think I've ever only spoken to <6 people that said they really liked the corner...
When the builders are going to such an effort to build something that looks awesome perhaps a bit more thought and designing could go into allowing a similar feature reach it's full potential.
Matty, the wall ride was falling apart and it was decided it was better to pull it down and rebuild rather than repair. Personally, I wasn't happy it was bolted into trees either, the new berm won't do that.
I think now knowing what didn't work (and what did) the rebuilt corner will be heaps better the second time around.
Having ridden there A few times i think a large earth berm would be the go. But also in saying that, perhaps i should get my lazy arse up there & give you guys a hand with some of the excellent work you do. see you soon.
Now I remember it. That was there on my first ride there but I couldn't remember what track it was.
Here's the profile from the ride. Lap 1 was the longer loop with my brother, lap 3 was the shorter loop with my brother and then lap 5 was just me doing the shorter loop so I could show David the difference in times and heart rate etc. Lap 6 was doing laps of the pump track.
