Saddle Bags and Frame-Fit Bags
I'm trying to locate a saddle bag or preferably a frame fit bag that won't rattle. I also need to have it within about 7 days. Can't find the thread that had the photos of those bags that fit in in the front triangle under the top tube. Where can you get those? Chain reaction seems to have the biggest range but not those ones that hang under.
I'm starting to think the Velcro attached saddle bags (that also attach to the seat post) will be much quieter (rattling) than the type that clip to the under side of the seat?
Where will all this stuff go (with no camel back):
-Mini-Pump
-Light Tube
-Multi-tool
-Mobile
-Car Key & blipper
-Repair kit, spare hanger, power-links, some money
-Muesli bar/gels
-Mini First aid Kit
OPTION A (XS BUM BAG):
-Mini-Pump VELCRO TO FRAME
-Light Tube TAPE TO FRAME
-Multi-tool BUM BAG
-Mobile BUM BAG
-Car Key & blipper BUM BAG

-Muesli bar/gels POCKET
-Mini First aid Kit POCKET
OPTION B: (MEDIUM SADDLE BAG):
-Mini-Pump VELCRO TO FRAME
-Light Tube SADDLE BAG
-Multi-tool SADDLE BAG
-Mobile SADDLE BAG
-Car Key & blipper SADDLE BAG
-Repair kit, spare hanger, power-links, some money SADDLE BAG
-Muesli bar/gels POCKETS
-Mini First aid Kit POCKET
OPTION C: (NEITHER):
-Mini-Pump TAPE TO HELMET
-Light Tube WRAP AROUND NECK
-Multi-tool HOLD IN HAND
-Mobile TUCK IN SOCK
-Car Key & blipper DOWN THE FRONT OF MY PANTS

fit the bill or in anyway help? http://www.groundeffect.co.nz/product-detail-RCK...
Might just about get it here in 7 days.
hmm interesting. My objective is to drop gear weight. I thinking more like under 150g rather than 1500g.
thanks!
Considered something like this? It looks a bit big, but the report is favourable:

Depends what sort of riding you want to do. Personally I find fat saddle bags catch on your thighs too much but have strapped stuff underneath the top tube with good results (eg. battery holder at 24 hour race inside neoprene case and held with electrician's tape).
Just out of interest, why are you losing the back pack?
You can easily carry all that stuff in you back jersey pockets.
I couldn't imagine these types of bags would be any good for technical riding. They would move around on the bike too much over fast bumps, jumps, drop offs etc.
The one that fits in the front triangle could even rub on your legs or snag the cranks.
Why not one of the more slimline camelback designs - these are tried and proven. I've seen a bloke pull a backflip off dirt jumps wearing a camelback!
I have one that velco's around my spacers on the steerer tube
And then around the top tube
it stays firm and can ride it over any terrain
The only very minor prob is that my knee brushes it when out of the saddle
But the places i use it there's not a huge amount of out of the saddle work
I can't remember where I bought it though
It was an add on when i bought my helmet in a one off purchase from a US ebay bike store
So can't help with the 7 day delivery
Actually, I watched the vid and it does look good. Then checked their site. Looks like they come in 3 sizes, or will do soon:

A friend in my street has bet me (1 carton of beer) that he can beat me (total time) at the CareFlight Classic (Oaks with Fire Trail at end) this year. For most rides (I hardly ever race) I normally use a Camelback (with everything) for long rides, or I carry a mini bum bag for short rides near home (with just phone and compression bandage for snakebite as I ride alone a fair bit).
Think I'll check out the LBS's and find a little bag that velcros on.
I can almost taste the James Squire Golden Ale right now!
Might also look at one like Andy mentioned as they look good for snacks etc, and I found the little rattle under the seat so annoying. If I can see it in front of me, maybe think thats better.
