My back fence neighbour's dog annoys me in particular.
He rides around Manly Dam, and the brainless thing bails people up. Last time, it bailed me up. I yelled at it and he called it to heel (it ignored him), and then it trotted off dwn the trail and bailed up some chick walking, who looked quite intimidated. Not impressed. It seriously needs some obedience training.
Most of the time I'm fine with them - so long as they stay out of the way. There were a couple of groups of riders on the weekend accompanied by dogs and the animals knew how to behave around bikes..
Especially around multiple user trails like Manly Dam....I'm pretty sure it's even illegal to have one off the leash around the Dam. They're unpredictable and need to be restrained. Not to mention they can run off into the bush chasing wildlife.
I believe it's illegal to have a dog in a National Park. On the leash or not, doesn't matter.
But nobody sticks to the rule, at least around Manly Dam. And I'm not sure I'd be that keen on a lead being strung across the trail. At least I can manual over the dog (or I will, once I've done that AMBC course I've been promising myself )
don't mix & like both of them unless the are ugly little yappers. When I was out at Appinn a guy was filming & his dog was always in front & didn't worry about anybody else
was beating his owner up to the top of the Strom. and when I mentioned this he said he knows all the tracks and loves the place -top dog!!! it was a smart Border Collie
