Bicycle rider numbers in the Northern Beaches

Just reading through the thread about the latest council meeting.

Is there any factual information on the actual numbers of locals (residents of the Northern beaches) that ride bikes in general? It would be very interesting reading, all the different demographics that ride different disciplines.

Hasn't been updated for a bit http://wiki.nswmtb.asn.au/index.php?title=Rider_...

Note that the majority of riders do not belong to a club or informal group like nobmob so exact numbers are hard to pin down

Have a look here:

Page 12 (of the PDF numbering):

...a conservative estimate is that somewhere in the order of 10,000 mountain bike users appear to be accessing existing trails in the Northern Beaches area.

There are studies, etc. cited in the report.

Thanks heaps for that guys. Plenty of reading there... lol

It's amazing just how many people ride on the Northern Beaches. It's great to see!

using Manly Dam, per estimates in the Gondwana Report commissioned by Council. Sounds about right to me.
