Embarrasing Moments in MTB
Here's a story that might serve as a warning to some...
The title of this post was to be, "Rare Moments in MTB", for tonight I washed the Jekyll. Normally I don't much care what it looks like so only give the drive train a thorough clean. You know, cassette brush, chain scrubber, etc, etc. What this means is the rest of the bike is typically very dry, and the following doesn't happen:
Living in a unit as I do, the washing takes place a floor or two above the car space where Mr Jekyll lives. It's a nice quick zap down a couple of ramps to there... normally fun, but not this time.
See, you might have noticed in your car that concrete that's pretty polished and wet rubber don't grip so well. Well - try it on a bike... ouch!
I'd like to think that on a trail in such a slide would have been fine. I mean, clips would have been in, both hands on the bars (not one holding a bucket of cleaning materials) and of course the slide would have eventually stopped when the slippery stuff was passed.
So, just take it easy in car parks with wet tires,
Embarrased,
Rob

So it doesn't sound like you crashed with dignity or aplomb. There has been a bit of that lately
