Recommended rotors (and pads) for Juicy brakes
I'm in the market for some new rotors for two bikes, one with Juicy 3.5s and one with Juicy Ultimates. I've spent some time on the internet and I am struggling to find good information regarding recommended rotors. I think I am currently running G2 rotors which I have not been that impressed with - they seemed to warp fairly early on in their life and despite efforts to straighten them out I have been unsuccessful to get them to stay straight.
I'm interested if there are better rotors out there than the G2 rotors (Avid or otherwise). I would be happy to take a reasonable weight penalty for a rotor that is less likely to warp under braking than the G2s I currently have. I am running 6 bolt hubs front and rear with 185mm and 160mm rotors respectively.
As for brake pads I don't even know where to start. I am not sure if brake pads have been covered previously on the website, I couldn't find anything on rotors so I thought I'd throw this in too.

it made me think
maybe it's not my fiddly brake calipers or pistons
maybe it's my G2 rotors which don't seem to run true
no matter how much bloody straightening I do
Be interesting to hear what people say
re the pads
I switched early on from Avid sintered to ceramic
To stop that crazy squealing
Recently I read another thread on brake pads
And in my last OS order got a set from Goodridge and Nuke Proof - both cheaper
Had to give the Goodridge's a bit of a light sand to fit, but they feel great
At least as good as the Avid's, but completely noiseless
Haven't tried the Nuke Proofs yet, but they came recommended
on the Goodridge did you get, Blooty?
I just checked the pads on my commuter and they're paper thin - thinking of getting some of the XT pads.
mine too 160 G2 on the rear & 160 G3 on the front with the ceramic sintered all round
I use Avid G3 rotors. 185mm up front and 160mm on the rear. I team them with Avid sintered pads...While not the quietist they'll last you a long time (unless you do a lot of wet riding).
No complaints from me.
I've had good results using Hayes rotors with some Juicy 7s for a couple of years.

To be honest, I thought Hayes rotors were rather soft. They wore oddly after two sets of brake pads. I had to replace the rotors to sell the bike. Didn't warp that easily, though.
I had such a poor overall experience with Hayes brakes on my last bike I'll take a lot of convincing to buy anything made by them.
They're definitely quieter than my old G2's and I haven't really noticed any major warping in over a year of use. The rear needed to be straightened a bit once (took about 10 seconds) but I'm not sure if it copped a hit or what.
