Wow... is this not the weirdest shock position:

Allegidly (from thier tech page):

This top mounted shock makes for a more rigid rear triangle.

This set-up also means you don’t need an additional pro-pedalling shock – a big cost saver that also boosts performance by reducing bobbing. A shock in this position also gives you easy access to lock outs while riding, and does away with any need for remote lockout access systems.

Erm... you don't need pro-pedal but you do need lockout? Hmmmm... gotta give them some marks for being different though.

I guess it keeps the shock out of the mud, which has to be a good thing.

ar_junkie, that's why it is important not to ride naked. Unless it's 2 AM and you've had a million beers in which case the rules for a lot of things go out the window.
