Simon O'Brien, the X Games Flatlander Gold Medallist has confirmed his attendance at Newton's Nation!
For those who don't know what Flatland is, it's a freestyle BMX riding style performed on smooth flat surfaces that don't include ramps, jumps or grind rails, think freestyle BMX mixed with a blend of breakdancing and you've got it! The Flow Zone at Newton's will play host to the BMX Flatland where you can watch Simon perform his awe inspiring tricks and spins, along with some of the most talented and daring action sportspeople out there.
Newton's Nation will play host to the inaugural Uprising BMX dirt competition, which will be staking its claim as the premier BMX competition in Australia.
The Uprising, as the name suggests, is all about going up. But what goes up must come down – some more gracefully than others. The competition is open to everyone; however our jumps will be built to test riders of the highest caliber. Let's just say it's all in the name of testing Newton's theory of gravity!
Newton's Nation is bringing 'Buggy Rollin' to Australia for the first time ever! Buggy Rollin', AKA Jean-Yves Blondeau is a French designer who is best known for creating the 31-wheel roller suit. This suit places a number of rollers (similar to those found on rollerblades) on most of the major joints, the torso, and the back. The wearer can ride in a variety of positions (rollerblade, on back, on torso, on all fours and more) at speeds of up to 60 mph (96 km/h). Buggy Rollin' has featured on television shows in several countries and two of his suits can be seen in the 2008 Jim Carrey film Yes Man. He claims his fastest time yet is 116 km/h, his highest jump is 5m 70!
Of the four sports zones at Newton's Nation, the G-Force Zone will be where all the skate action unfolds. Arguably the most intense area of the festival, this is where Buggy Rollin' plans on breaking his personal best speed in what will be one of THE spectator highlights of the festival.

Mountain Bike Australia (MTBA) has changed the date for Round 2 of their 2010-2011 National Series to avoid a date clash with Newton's Nation. The new date has been changed to January 15th – 16th 2011.
Newton's Nation will include the Mountain Bike 2060 Downhill race, and MTBA are ensuring all riders have the opportunity to compete at Newton's without having to forego championship points. The $5K prize purse places 2060 up there with the biggest downhill races in Australia, with Newton's staking its claim as one of the "can't miss" Mountain Bike events of 2010!
Newton's Nation is excited to announce the 1st release music line up and early bird ticket release exclusively to our passport members; public release is on Monday 2nd August.
>

So far it looks like we've got a big crew of Qlders looking to come down and dominate so NSW and Vic riders need to get in and show them who is boss...
Should be a great event.
And remember, it more than just a DH race
Nathan Rennie and Chris Kovarik have signaled the intention to tear shit up and reek havoc on the 2060DH course!!!!

Entries close today, Friday the 19th.
Can't wait for this, not only some of the worlds best doing the MTB downhill but a lot of the other gravity sports are going to be great to see.
We are going for Saturday and night, I'm surprised more of the NoBMoB haven't clicked the star considering what's on offer.
Flynny is there a timetable for the sports events and the bands playing? Thinking I might come out for Sunday if I'm not too worn out from Saturday night.
John.
John I've got a rough timetable but I'm not sure if it is the final one. I think the official one will be out and on the Newtons site this week.
I'm hanging to watch the downhill skate boards. Those guys put on a great show the last 2 years
Final competitor info and full sports time table available

Ok so the next Newtons Nations has been moved to April 2012.
This gets it out of the End of Year exams/HSC/Schoolies period and gets in into the Uni term which will hopefully see a bigger crowd roll up and also put it in the State Series time slot....
At first we thought the 2060DH wouldn't be able to go ahead as we lost access to the Nature Reserve due to a change in the Management committee.
However the guys from Newtons Nations and Bathurst Council look to have secured us another spot.
Steeper, rougher, faster than the one we already got.
Schweeeeet!
