Anzac Day Ride
Stoopid question:
Anyone up for an outing on Anzac Day?
Expecting answer along the lines: "Do bears shi..."
Haven't been down to the Royal NP for a while, any takers for that 35K loop round there? Andersons? Narrow Neck? Hanging Rock (plus others - I hear it's a bit short)?
If I can talk the GF into it and the day is nice a very leisurely ride along Narrow Neck might be the winning choice as part of a relaxing day in the mtns.
Or any other suggestions?

definately yes for riding on Anzac Day!
Not sure about RNP.... mmmhhhh.... I think I am still inspired by reading about the Red Hill Day and really want to go there asap but give me a couple of days and I might get get over it.
A maybe for now.

I will definitely be looking for a cool ride on Anzac Day. But it will depend on the location. I would follow the crowd if we can get a consensus. But can we do something other than Manly Dam or Terrey Hills?
As for something different, does anyone else know of something new? I could suggest Yellowmundee as I have not done that ride before.
no offense to the yellowmundi crew, but going there the other week for the first time in years i was pretty disapointed fwiw...a very short figure 8 ish loop that stays very close to the motorway a good deal of the time, and very much an xc race style course (not tooo hilly, infact wheres the downhill bit?!) all that said its still fun, but very race coursey , like switchbacks created by tape running back and forth along trees to strech out the runs i guess.. just thought i'd give a heads up as although its a bit of fun, id rate it pretty low on my list of places to go again but then again thats just imho!
Is for Andersons-Oaks, although I could easily be talked into Red Hill.
At the moment only tentative as I may have other commitments.
I drag my sorry A** out for Anzac day.
Haven't been to RNP for eon's but cut my teeth down there..

Never done St Helenas yet. And some of the fast and risky sections of that are supposed to be a blast. But that may wait until we do an Oaks ride again. Maybe in a month or two.
Well Rob, your the fearless leader. What's your preference then?

- yeah, drinking and gambling are also completely acceptable alternatives on this day too : )
Hey Liam,
Really wanting to do the St Helenas track too, cant see it working out for this weekend either. Maybe in a couple of weeks!
Hi guys,
sounds like the Oaks would be a good idea! I haven't done either St Helena's or the Anderson (they are both extensions of the Oaks, aren't they??? .
Can we take the train to .... (is it Woodford?) do the Anderson part and then the Oaks incl. St Helena's and then lunch ?
What do you think?
Cheers

Well, as I eluded to earlier, this was on the cards and have elected to do Narrowneck - Smell the Flowers.
However, am getting the impression the rest of you will be up in the mtns too, hitting St Helenas by the sounds. Go for it - this is a hoot, just be prepared for the huge hike-a-bike out at the end.
