Trail for 7 year old?
Beyond Terrey Hills and the local BMX track (which may be too wet), anyone have any suggestions for kid friendly trails/tracks for 7 year old ? Does Ourimbah have anything like this?

Have you tried The Slippery Dip at Oxford Falls? and there's also a few kid friendly trails in Ku-ring-gai NP too. Challenger and Bairn Tracks.
i would suggest the last loopof Yellomundee - a group of us were out there a few weeks back and a couple of friends had their kids there, i took the 7,9,10 and 12 year olds on a lap of the last loop. they loved it! only a couple of sections where they had to get off.
Otherwise there is the Royal National Park or across the road from the Loftus car park at Waratah Park is a criterium loop that they use for the Summer midweek kids series - i've watched the kids go around this track and they are having heaps of fun. there are berms, small pallet roll overs and no hill climbs. The criterium loop is accessed via Loftus Ave, Sutherland.
Doesn't go all the way around yet but you can get from deep creek to the golf course the long way around with dirt tracks, bike paths and the foot path over the bridge.
If you are willing to drive to Ourimbah I would highly recommend continue driving to Awaba Mountain bike park instead. There is a dedicated kids loop (orange loop 1.2km) which I have seen many young kids ride and enjoy. There is also a kid friendly pump track next to the car park. I think it's a fantastic idea and love the initiative by HMBA.

In the Wildflower Gardens there is a fantastic closed loop which is ideal for the little ones. I stumbled on it a few weeks ago when I was poking around the back of the St Ives Showground. I have no idea how long it is or where it starts and I realise it's not a dirt track but it may be the ideal wet weather option ! Perhaps somneone else knows where it starts etc ....
as said above plenty of kids seem to go alright there
