Hi Mob,

My son is hassling me about replacement shocks for his Giant Yukon SX:

He has id'd a couple like:
Front forks
Rear Shock

Any words of advice / caution.

Part of the change is to look a bit cooler as well as weight reduction and the Giant was a low spec bike and they are failing a bit after some downhil action with 90kg rider (me, dad - whoops)

Thanks guys

not long ago with another young fellow who we shall not name as he used his head & bought a better bike& is very happy with . Solo air front shocks save a little bit of weight as for the rear not much you can do with it , you can go lighter wheels ,brakes , handle bars seat & post , the list keeps going . In the long run ride it till your skills get better than get a better spec bike

Thankyou smiley, With a garage full of bikes (about 13 now), I don't think the wife will tolerate another one:-). What have you found to be the best way to dispose of perfectly good bikes, juts outgrown in size and skill levels? Ebay?

the type of bike & condition , there are people out there that recycle bikes & give them too ppl that are hard off , ie no money or just can't afford to buy kids bikes so they get them cheap or if they are worth a bob or two ebay or put them out the front
