Buckled Wheel
![Pants's picture Pants's picture](https://nobmob.com/files/imagecache/user_avatar/pictures/picture-2137.jpg)
After Rob inspired me to do DH with his recent video post, this is what happened to my front wheel going through the 'stairway to heaven' section of Awaba DH. I did a nice flip too!
Also a good review of Stans Tubeless as the tyre held, only lost 5psi after burping and spewing sealant on the ground.
And if anyone is thinking of lacing a wheel themselves it is not as hard as you might think!

Nice work - hope you had fun aside from that!
Nice job on the wheel, getting the most of out the new bike! I recently converted my Trance to tubeless using Stan's on Mavic rims and Maxxis LUST Ignitor/Larsen. It was a dream, went on with ease, sealed up beautifully and was all around just very easy. I was sceptical that it could not have been that simple, something must go wrong but I’ve been out for a few rides and all seems good (touch wood!).
Maybe next time I would try a ghetto tubeless job but for a first timer, I would highly recommend Stan’s or other similar tubeless conversion kits.
I assume that rim is dead or can it be fixed via re-spoking??
It happened at the end of the day so I had already had heaps of runs. I was lucky to not land on a nice smooth bit in the rock garden and not one of the numerous rocks. Plus a mate then let me have a run on his v10 so it wasnt a loss.
I had a go at bending it back in shape by applying a large force to it (i.e. my foot) and it would not go back in shape. I had another one lying around and just re-laced it and will take the old one to a scrap metal place.
to be worth fixing. Too hard to get even spoke tension.
Glad you didn't get hurt.
Looks like one of mine, perfectly rideable I say.
