Broke a spoke at Awaba the other day and took it in to a big bike shop on Griffith Rd on Wed, my wheels being Mavic SL's need spokes to be ordered generally, so I expect that but after feeling like I really was interupting the bloke that served me's day, I asked how long I might expect to get it back. Got a dunno mate we'll call you in a couple days and let you know, when I then asked how long after they got the spoke I got dunno mate depends on the workshop. At that point (even after going through the booking in process) I picked up the wheel and left - went over to Avanti Plus at Kotara and asked the same question, this time answer was mate it's only 1.30 we should be able to order and get one up and be ready for you by Fri - got a text yesterday (the next day), wheels all done. Picked it up today and even with a bottle of Rock 'n Roll Gold was still $15 cheaper than the other shop.

I'll bet the guys in the first shop are probably whining about how the internet is killing their business ...

I stopped going there for MTB parts a while ago on two occasions they wanted to charge me $30 extra just to order in spares for me even though i was prepared to wait for their normal delivery day.1st time i wanted a Maxxis crossmark UST that they usualy had but were out of stock so what do i do? ordered on internet, result delivered to my door 2 days latter $20 dollars cheaper no $30 extra charge. 2nd time my Daughter bought me a gift voucher from there so i thougt i would buy a Polar heart rate monitor for the bike the one i wanted not in stock so $30 order charge, enquired about other parts for the MTB i bought from there none in stock so to order, $30 extra to order in so bought the heart rate monitor to use voucher never to return to shop again. I have delt in the motor game for years and never had to pay extra to order in parts only a deposit which i thought was fair. anybody else had this

Yep, afraid so. They also wanted to charge me for ordering parts for a bike I bought there - in the end they waived that charge because I had bought the bike there. I have no interest in shopping there again - there are plenty of other bike shops around that are far better in customer service and price.

been to a fair bit of bad attitude bike shops, Pro bike drummoyne and abc to name a few. Now go to tbsm, great service and they really look after you without trying to rip you off.
