No on-course water at Back Yamma Bigfoot

I put in an email to the organisers asking where the water stops would be, and got the following response. Haven't done a 50km before so not sure if this is an issue:

I hope this doesn't throw a spanner in the works, but we won't have any
water on the course. The only water stop will be at the event centre for
those doing the 100km. We are trying to minimize costs. However, if we
receive enough requests for additional water stops we'll look into
including another one next year. The course is pretty fast and not too
strenuous. When compared to the angry doctor or highland fling, this is
pretty easy. A 3L bladder and a bottle or two of electrolyte fluid would be
plenty.

We have had a few questions about water stops, and think we have a good solution that will put a water stop about 25km. This will allow riders doing the 50km to top up at about the half way point and the 100km riders will have water at the 25km, 50km and 75km marks. Our problem has been finding easy to move, cheap, easy to use water containers. But think we have it sorted.

Having said this, the water we will have will only be enough for refills during the race. Please bring water for the start and end.

Hope this helps.

Chris a lot of farmers will have 1000l tanks that can be put on the back of a ute. Ask around you may be able to borrow for free. You might even be able to hit up one of the mines out that way to fill it up from their pottable water supply

Thanks for the advice. We've tried a couple of farmers and they couldn't guarantee the quality of their tanks. We've come up with another solution that should work. Though i'll definitely keep an eye out for a 1000l tank.
