Hi all,
Have a little problem, I have Truvativ Stylo 2.2 crankset and I am trying to remove them only thing is I can get the non drive side arm off no problem but cannot pull the driveside through to remove it does come loose and has about 1 inch of movement but thats it. Any idea's on how to get this out or have I missed something?

thanks

It might just need a bit of a tap to go the rest of the way through. The axle is tapered slightly so it shouldn't really stop coming out if it has started to come out 1".

Just a thought, is there any flaring on the spline for the non-drive side, ie the very edge stopping at the bearing ?

nah not that I could see. Iv given it a good whack with the hammer but maybe wasn't hard enough might have to get a little forceful with it. Should I try removing the bracket on the non driveside before giving it a whack?

Yeah, good idea. If that comes off and the crank doesn't, then at least you'll be able to look inside to see what's restricting it on the drive side. On the other hand, if the BB comes off the frame and not the crank axle, then there's where your problem lies, needing a closer look.

I wouldn't hit it too hard, it should only need a light tap with a rubber mallet. Hitting it with a metal hammer I'd be avoiding, unless you put a bit of wood in between.

is what you need.
