the police report and inspection around the local Cash Converters Stolen Goods Emporia?
A member of another forum I'm on recovered his Cannondale 29er pretty quickly - the moron thief sold it for $150 less than an hour after nicking it presumably to fund his next fix.
Then we've at least got a chance to recognise it!
I had a mate get his custom built 753 road bike stolen from inside his car. It had a few unique features, and about three years later another friend saw it being raced in a club event. He got the name of the guy, and eventually got it back. It had been bought by this guy unknowingly, but because my mate could prove it was his and had been stolen he got it back. He gave the guy a token payment in good faith as it he didn't know it was 'hot' when he bought it.
Anyway, it's good to post a pic so we can all keep an eye out!

I didn't find out till 5:30 this arvo when i went to go home my LBS has all the details on file so i will be on to it first thing in the morn. Do u know if there is some sort of data base where serial numbers are recorded and porn shops have to report too?
ps. it was stolen from The Junction
Wasn't outside the Eastern hotel by any chance? That's a bike theft hotspot right now.
edit: ah you're in Newcastle. Thought you mean Bondi Junction
I have recently relocated to the city and been commuting in about once a week. Anyway my commuting day last week ended up being Thursday then on Friday got an email saying two bikes had been stolen from the bike parking area that day.
While I am sorry for the people involved the standard of commuter in the carpark isn't impressive. Really glad my 3 month old commuter wasn't available that day.
People at work think I am being precious as I bring my bike up to the office instead of leaving it in the basement car park. Forget that, my shiny new red roadie is not going anywhere near the basement car park that is used for deliveries, tradespeople coming and going and backs onto an alley. No thank you. Sorry to hear of your loss.
Bummer. Sorry to hear about that.
Without wanting to sound like an english teacher, oyur mistake may amuse....I personally am a big fan of 'porn' shops. But I think in this context you meant 'pawn'.
Maybe checking both out will help brighten your otherwise annoying week.
If they are that stupid to put it on ebay , they shouldn't have a brain , in saying that why would they risk stealing a bike hmm
We had a bike stolen from the work car park bike racks. The building guys were as helpful as possible, but if you only see commuter’s cars, tradies vans and tarped utes go through you can no see who took the bike. But I firmly believe it is an opportunistic theft – as he had never left his bike (Reign 0) down there before – tolls and opportunity required.
Then a couple of weeks ago my lock was tampered with, but still all in place. The building team have put a camera on the bikes. But these stories are why I will not spend a fortune on a commuter.
