Hi,
I would like to ask you about shopping of a better MTB :] , because at the moment I have very old and very a cheap bike [I only bought it for 50 AUD and you know imagine bike quality:], but sometimes I rode on this bike to Manly Dam. I needed buy a better bike for reasonable price, because I am Czech student and I can’t to afford buy some expensive bike, which I had at home in my country, until somebody stolen me it. Could you help me and say to me, where and what kind of MTB can I to buy some better bike for good price, please? Also I don’t have view of prices here:] And so sorry for my English….I am still studying English:] thank you very much, Katie PS: I don’t need a new bike:]

eBay is a great starting point, I've picked up some great bargains there in the past.

All the best Katie,

Probably best and safest not to ride alone. It doesn't matter how prepared you may or may not be, anything can happen.

Common saying here is "post it and they shall come"

http://nobmob.com/node/add/ride-meeting

Put in a date, time and location and I'm certain people will come keep you company.

Rob is king here and he is always keen to take new people out and about. I'm sure he'll bring his missus out and you guys can make a n00b day of it.

I know, that we should have some buddy...but I have been cycling for all the time alone, what I'm here....{on Central Coast or Manly Dam} I am not so a good biker like you...I don't have experience with this one...unfortunately, but I am patient:] Thanks for ride-meeting...probably I'll try it:] why not:] I wanted to find some biker's partner on Gumtree....but almost everyone wanted from me immediately my photo...but I am not looking for some boyfriend....just I wanted spend a time with somebody, who likes cycling too...that's it....so, because I rode on my bike alone:] Katie PS: Manly Dam almost is near from my house, fortunately:]

I'm not quite sure what Loz is on, but sure... post a ride and am sure there will be plenty of people wanting to show an overseas visitor around Smiling

Pratiwi 'my missus' is doing a triathlon on Saturday so that might be out. There may be a slim chance of a spin with her at Terrey Hills Sunday or the weekend after though.

There are plenty of girls lurking around here somewhere, or come ride with they guys - they are mostly friendly. Steer clear of that Loz character though! Eye-wink

Hmmm, you'd better be careful if you are asking for riding friends on gumtree..... you might get an unpleasant surprise Sticking out tongue

Nobmob is a much better place to find cycling buddies. Its what we're all about here. Rob has already offered to take you for a ride next Sunday! great news!

But yeah, Robs right, you'd best steer clear of me, I couldn't even figure out how to use the strange Czech bicycles.... so I won't be of much help here Smiling

and also I have to say I am happy...I got off chest...very much:] If you will have a time for next Sunday [24.10.2010], so I'll be glad...I just can to go to Manly Dam, because I don't have a car and I can to go there by my bike:] and also I draw you attention to my bike is very historical, very weighty and my skills aren't so good like your...and I don't talk about my English...I am in level Intermediate:] But if you said don't worry....I would like to be happy:] I need very soon to buy some a better bike...with new helmet...yea...do you know where is some good and a little bit cheaper any shop where I can to buy new and safe helmet, please?...once more THANKS:] Katie

is Cascades. It's a little further north than Manly Dam but it is easy to ride there by bike - no car needed.

It is not as technical and therefore suits beginners better, but there are a few hills that will challenge your fitness. Smiling
