Update on Manly Warringah War Memorial Park Plan of Management

News just in from the council (think this was sent to an email list, many of you probably have it too):

I am emailing to update you on the progress of the Manly Warringah War Memorial Park Plan of Management. As you probably know, we had originally hoped to release an ‘Issues and Directions Discussion Paper’ for comment in September.

However, due to the importance of Manly Dam and the need to fully understand the impacts of each of the views and values expressed during the consultation, this paper will now be released in November 2010.

Council is aiming to have a rigorous and informed debate among the community on the issues and values of the Park through:

• Release of the Discussion Paper in November 2010
• Inviting a broad sector of the community to comment on the Paper and
• Through holding a public meeting as part of this comment period.

To assist this debate, it is important that the Discussion Paper contain a thorough analysis of the issues and values, plus the necessary supporting data and information.
