try bikeradar.com or mtbr.com . however i think its too late to see what others think as you already bought it. if it swells, ride it

yeah mate that's true but I was just trying to see if there's any generic problems I might need to keep a eye out for

Merida are one of the best quality bikes you can get. Very well built and reliable, you should be well pleased with your purchase. Not all that well known in this country but actually the second biggest bike manufacturer in the world. You would be hard pressed to find a better quality bike for the price.

Good to hear you are happy with it. I'm looking at buying one for Christmas. I'm looking at the dual suspension one as I have back problems. Still looking and asking questions.

mr930, if you have back problems then unless you're getting a really good deal you may want to look at something with a bit better small bump compliance than the merida. I owned merida am3000d which was a great bike but did lack a little in the initial part of its travel. The first part of the travel is quite firm and take it from someone who also has a bad back, good small bump compliance is important to keep you comfy.

Thanks Jimbo, so what is a good bike to buy that will not hurt my back ?

If second hand is an option, look at a cannondale rush. I'm amazed at how smooth the ride is. Pro-pedal off and it's like being on a cloud, pro pedal on and it's still soft, but you certainly feel les compliance.

Depends on budget really - the giant maestro equipped stuff is pretty good at reasonable prices, if you've got more to spend or want to go second hand then you're choices get greater

I can not comment on a TFS 400XC but can comment on Merida from my experience. I have a Merida One Twenty 800D and am impressed. It is an entry level dual suspension but components and feel are great. Value for money - absolutely. I have heard that Merida are bigger in Brisbane than Sydney because that is where the importer is and in previous years did not focus outside Queensland much.

thanks for your reply glad you like your merida as I have now done 200km on my merida at Glenrock, awaba and on road can only say that I agree and love my merida its a great hardtail,,, hope to see you on the trails Smiling
