It was a great arvo to get out for ride on the new bike.
Man it is super fast, handling is telepathic almost.... you think about where you want to go and it just happens. The bike is very stiff, every time you push down on the pedals it just GOES it feels like Im cheating to be honest.
The descent down to Akuna bay is rough no matter what bike you are on, Given the bike is alloy I was very pleased at the ride on the rough stuff, Yeah it tells you about the bumps in the road but the buzz from the chip seal is very well controlled. I need to dial my position on the bike before I spend to much more time on it, the fit was not quite right and I was left thinking if the pedaling position was a little better (saddle height and fore and aft) the bike would fly.
I had a bit of a go at the Akuna bay hut to hut hot lap and clocked in a time of 13:24, I kept a little bit up my sleeve so once I have the bike position sorted I will give this another crack...
All up I'm am stoked with the bike. I was not sure if the alloy frame was a wise idea but after riding it I am happy I didn't spend the extra on a carbon frame.
If anyone out there on a XL roadie frame wants to have a ride to see how nice it rides just ask next time we are out on a ride.

Love the fact you can put in a 13:24 and have some reserve in the tank, I know if I rode a hut to hut time like that I definitly wouldnt have anything left in the tank.

Looking forward to seeing the bike in the flesh.

I've read this whole thread thinking I'll find out what the bike is you bought but it's not mentioned, sort of guess you got the Cannondale something you'd been talking about but a pic would be good.
