First MTB Enduro
So my first Enduro and first full fling, on the new Yeti as well and I am pleased with the result.
Wasnt to sure of what my target time should be, talking to Whisperer he suggested 6h30m would be decent. Start of the race was good and I was keeping my HR to 80% of max which was excellent, got to the first transition and lost some time as I was putting my nutrition into my camelback, however once back on the bike I think I hot the 50k mark with a average of 20 kph showing on the garmin and had covered that in 2 hours and 30 mins, at that point I was feeling pretty decent.
Next part of the race was a lot tougher, with the never ending firetrails and I also saw a 2 metre long brown snake trying to negotiate the fireroad we were riding on. Got slight cramps at about 65km mark and was willing the transition to appear as I need to get some food on board and water. Met with ps on the ride back into the transition and we pushed each other along.
Got to the transition and Whisperer was there, talking about pulling the pin as he was in the box, managed to coax him to not have a DnF against his name and we (Whisperer, ps and I) road the last stage togethor, apart from the last 15k's or so after Whisperer said for us to carry on. Final K's into the finish were hell but got there in the end.
Nothing overly eventful happened, had a stack due to a girl stopping infront of me on a descent on the new bit of singletrack early on and the brown snake but apart from that all good.
Really pleased with my time, finished 20th in the Male Open Catagory which isnt bad and I will be aiming for sub 6 Hours next time round.

Hey Logan,
Well done, 20th in open male is a very respectable result!
All the better for your first 110km race, just think, the next '100' will be easy by comparison!
Thanks for the motivation at the last transition, I was as close to pulling the pin as I've ever been in a race!
Don't worry to much about the time as that effort would have got you under 6 hours at several of the other 100k races. btw thanks for the company, it made the last section go faster.
