If the timings on Friday afternoon aren't suitable for you, let me know and I might be able to change them.

If you've been here before with me, you'll know what to expect. If you haven't here's a rough outline:

We start by going along a nice quiet road, which starts to descend, and gradually you go faster and faster, until a final mad rush, where you'll hit terminal velocity (well, not quite, but I hit 66.6km/h once). Like the sound of that? It's just the beginning.

The real event, the track itself is off a side street (Ti-Tree Cres), and goes into a very bushy, narrow fern lined firetrail, with plenty of waterbars to keep you happy... as well as some surprisingly long descents (with the obvious uphill that follows...). If you're not satisfied with over 5km of that, check out the awesome Naa Badu Lookout (I think that's how it's spelt). It looks much better in real life than in the photo.

A bit more of this lovely leafy firetrail (though I think it's a bit narrow to drive a vehicle on at the moment), and then an extremely technical ascent - heaps of fun - before the final, relatively short, uphill slog on tarseal. I've heard this track compared to the highly-rated Winmalee, though never having ridden that one, I can't really judge...

So at the top of the hill, there's a bit of interesting stuff, then some more great descents on a couple of other trails, which are made so the hill going back up is extremely gradual... great stuff!

A reasonable XC bike would be required for this ride - preferably a dually, though I imagine it's easily possible on a hardtail, just not as fun! Technical skills required to get the most out of this ride, as well as a good level of fitness. I like riding at a brisk pace, though am not usually in an immense hurry

Check out the database on TrailFlix for the main firetrail (that goes from Berkley Cl to Ti-Tree Cres). Hope it's enticing; don't get fooled by the 3-star rating!
