SRAM Singletrack Mind Series - Bigger and Better in 2011
Following the success of the inaugural SRAM Singletrack Mind Series, event organiser Chocolate Foot has expanded the series to 6 rounds in 2011. With the ongoing support of the world’s most innovative component manufacturer SRAM, the series will continue to offer excellent prizes and prize money while also offering riders the opportunity to race on the best singletrack in NSW and the ACT.
Each venue has been carefully selected for its great trails, supportive hosting mountain bike clubs and landowners, and the ability to provide everything that riders desire at premium events such as these.
17/04/11 - Awaba State Forest – Newcastle
29/05/11 - Coondoo Road – Nowra
26/06/11 - Stromlo Forest Park – Canberra
21/08/11 - Wingello State Forest – Southern Highlands of NSW
18/09/11 - Mount Annan Botanic Garden – Sydney
23/10/11 - Lidsdale State Forest – Lithgow
For 2011, the series visits a mix of classic courses, such as the legendary Coondoo Road in the Shoalhaven and some new venues such as the professionally designed and built trail at the Mount Annan Botanic Garden in south west Sydney. Mount Annan currently has two of its three-stage development completed but by the event date of 18 September 2011 they plan to have Stage Three ready to race! In addition there will be a pump track competition and to cap it off there will be Camden Festival’s 'Cinema Under the Stars' the evening before race day!
The series has also enjoyed ongoing support from many other sponsors including Lezyne accessories, Hammer Nutrition, Nzo clothing, Muc-Off cleaners and lubes, Kenda tyres, The Body Mechanic, Mountain Bike Australia magazine as well as the great support from SRAM, RockShox, Avid and Truvativ. Castech Sports Technology were instrumental to the successful running of the series in 2010 and they will be providing their state of the art, live to the web timing services again in 2011.
Entries will open in January for the entire series and will host a wide range of categories to suit the avid racer right through to fun team categories for the weekend warrior, junior rider, and novice enduro competitor.

Some of you may know that we had to postpone Round 1 of the SRAM Singletrack Mind Series on 17 April due to heavy rain in the area in the days leading up to the event.
Many thanks for your patience while we’ve been working hard to find a suitable date to reschedule this event.
After discussions with all parties involved and other users of the Awaba Mountainbike Park, we have opted for Sunday 27 November as the date for this rescheduled event.
“But that’s the traditional weekend of the Wannaride Spring Fat Tyre Festival" we hear you collectively say! ...and you would be correct, but coincidentally our good friend Chris Wilson from Wannaride has decided to hang up his events hat while he follows his very worthy new path of studying land conservation (tree huggin!) and has handed the baton of this great event to us! We intend to keep the great vibe that has made the Spring Fat Tyre Festival a highlight of the MTB calendar. So, we are very pleased to announce that Round 1 of the SRAM Singletrack Mind Series will become 'Round 8¼', in honour of the Spring Fat Tyre Festival, and by virtue of the new date will also be the Series Finale.
Thanks again for your support of our decision to postpone Round 1 and we look forward to seeing you all at Awaba in November, if not before!
Cheers
Fi & Joe
