Hey Giles, i think we might get a good BMORC roll up for this, we were thinking of doing it on the saturday night but friday night should be good!
Thanks Todd - I would have made it Saturday but I'm tied up that evening - last night would have been awesome. Might punch the numbers up a bit.
Sadly I will be away for this..darn.
Tied Up???..i will leave that one alone!..did you want this as BMORC only mate?
Todd, without wanting to sound snobby, I think that BMORC only would be the go.
No, i completely agree, we all have started to think along the same lines!
How would a fully rigid 29er go on this trail? Haven't been there for two years, but expect the trail hasn't changed too much.
You should probably read above, it is a BMORC turnout!
So your saying that this ride is a BMORC turnout only? Does that include members of the BMORC forum, & affiliated website's / Fourms
Would I need a light?
You will need a light Tim. I have a spare if you need one.
When I wrote this ride up, I intentionally added the word BMORC to indicate a preference for BMORC riders to attend. My reasoning being, in the past, I have organised rides which due to the interconnected nature of the Global Riders Network websites have attracted riders from other areas/skill/fitness levels. This usually leads to a lot of "can we make it later", "can we change the meeting point" kind of discussions etc. When drawing on riders from the local area, these issues are minimised as everyone has to travel less etc. So, in this case I tried to make it just BMORC to minimise these hassles. It WAS NOT not intended as any kind of snobbery, hell knows we all need to get along and share the trails. I apologise if anyone has taken any offence - please rock up if you are keen, it should be a great evening with the sun going down about an hour into the ride.
Yep my thoughts exactly, we have had too many problems in the past, with groups splitting up, people treating it as a race etc.
Looking on cityrail site I can't see a 7:23 service out of Glenbrook? There is a 7:12 and and 7:44 but no 7:23.
You may be correct. The 7:23pm is for the weekend.
Do you reckon we'll finish at Glenbrook by 2130? I need to be down at work by 2200.
Sorry - stuffed up the day as Chuck suggested.
Can everyone make the 7:12?
Might work out better for JP too with the earlier start, although you may be pushing it if you hang with us slow guys in the pack.
I'm good time wise. Just let me know.
Not going to be able to make this one now, shame as the oaks is great fun in the dark. Hope it's not to wet out there for you all. See you next time.
Hey JP if you need to ride ahead to finish in time I don't mind tagging along if time is a bit short for you..
I'm out for tonight. Have a great ride and hopefully I'll see you all on the next one.
Im out as well sorry boys, i gotta pick up my wife from the airport, she's on the red eye from perth, just got my bike back too, had some mods done!!!
Sorry boys and girls - called due to the iffy weather, lets hope for a nicer evening soon. Might have to be a short notice event.
Good call on the weather, as I was already on my way to Glenbrook when I read your post I decided to ride up the oaks and back it absolutely bucketed down, rode back down riding off the side of the bike to keep the crap out of my eyes.
