Ourimbah lap length?

Hi All

I just wanted to see if anyone has a wheel-sensor measured lap distance from round 1 of CCOMTB. My Garmin reported about 8.5km, Logan's about 7.4 and the word on the day from the club was that it was about 10km. I could imagine the GPS wouldn't pick up the extra distance from all of the ducking and weaving in the single-track as it has a slower sample rate but I'm intrigued what the real distance is. I might have to get me one of the wheel speed and cadence sensor units for about $50.

Also, does anyone have any idea when the results will be published? I'm pretty keen to see how the time compared across the grades so I can work out where to put myself next time

cheers
danny

can take up to a month sometimes unfortunatly, I know after the 6 Hour last year it was a couple of weeks.

I would suggest that the loop for Round 1 was definitly not 10k, at the 6 Hour which had Meadows and the full magic carpet that was around the 10-11k mark I think, while Rd 1 didnt have the magic carpet and had short meadows. It also had a large part of Browns cut out of it as well IIRC.

I am gonna get a sensor for my MTB bike as well. I know the Garmin doesnt measure anything below 6kph I think.

You definitely need the wheel sensor with the garmin.

I got 9.26 km last time i went round with the Garmin 800, looking at the map created its the same as whats on their website.

+1 with Wheel Sensor is a must to get.

11ks using an old school wheel sensor bike computer. Same setup gives manly dam 9.8ks which is quite correct I think.

im not sure if the 9.26 and 11km figures are for the actual route used for round 1. they definitely sound a bit long. i had a sensor and from memory i think it was about 8.5km.

definately need the sensor for when theres tree coverage.
