Netti MTB Enduro 2nd of September
Anybody in for some training for October?
http://www.arocsport.com.au/MTBenduro/mtbenduro_...
Haven't worked out how far away it is etc. but course sounds like it's worth the effort (the riding and driving)
Has anybody done this one before?
Entries open today.
Cheers

Based around Mogo (about 4h30 down south). About half the time we'll spend on the bike there
Yes, the course does sound good... aside from this part, "Total climb for the 100km course is 2,850m."
Thats what I meant by effort .
Looks like it was made for you and your new toy Rob!
How much climbing did we do at the DW? (Just to get an idea how much 2,850m are
... was 2097m from my GPS.
Other offerings I can find on MB see 2016m, 2057m, 2033m, 2076m (with a couple more a way bit out)... so yeah, it's somewhere around there.
Could you climb 40% more?! My legs don't want to do this, how about yours?
=;o)
The Highland Fling had 2350m of climbing which was alot, the hills were medium length and steep, it was a great race. The 2850m if it's more undulating (like they say) may not be too bad.
My hand will be healed by then so I'm a definate maybe. John
If it the climbs are as steep as the dirtworks it only means 40% more walking for me , no worries!
Plenty of time to train until then....
Remember: new track!!!
more hills the better!
Freaks
Come on ditty... you know that. Don't call the hills, 'Freaks'... they are sensitive types
Knew I could count on you Shaun and Bruce!!
Come on Rob! You know you want to!!
Hope you signed up for the hundred Caro!
Just signed up too, sounds like a good course
No one has done this race before it's brand new.
The Canberrans are raving about the singletrack around Mogo.
Technically the race is new but the course has been ridden...
Did an AROC 24hr race (AR) at the beginning of the year and all the teams raved about it as being an ideal spot for a MTB race... I've got the pic to prove it =;o)
There is some sweet riding to be done in those hills... and from memory, they weren't thaaaat bad...
Bring on the South Coast!
Not going to make it....will be ripping up snow in NZ. Looks good though!
Three of us are signed up .
Must be crazy.
Can't wait!
Just entered this race as well. Must be completely mad
Evan
What do you think after the Coffs event?
The site says, "The climbing for both the 50km and the 100km is mostly a result of constant undulation rather than super big hills." but look a the profile and I see climbs: 100m, 40m, 100m, 40m, 75m, 50m, 50m, 75m in the first 50Ks. Look at the second half and it's basically one huge roller coaster! Check the 200m+ peak just after 65K, you get there with at least 4x50m descents along the way.
At least this has a 7am start so a nice easy (hah!) day can be had. Having been less than 100% the last two I'm slightly worried about the thought of it though.
That said, if I feel better by next week (am now on some drugs to clear up the last issue) will be in for the 100 (with some serious training coming), otherwise the 50.
After 4 1/2 weeks of no riding and lots of time reading about some bloody fantastic mtb the NoBMoB has been doing I'm sooo busting for this one.
Canberra and Coffs sounded awesome from the great write ups and the pics were also tops (despite turning me a little green with envy) I'm entering 100km so I better get some kms up in the next 2 mths. My hand is not ready for mtb yet but I'm gonna ride my roadie till it it hurts on Saturday.
Cheers John
Must organize a few big rides... as soon as it's relatively comfortable for a long ride... Wollongong and back you say?
;o)
Rob - the hills are calling for you...
...what Shaun said, Im up for some long rides. PM me if you want to organise something.
Bugger the gong and back.
For distance training we should do some majorly huge rides through the miles of fire trail at Ourimbah or places like that.
To train for the doctor, riding up Oaks + Andersons looks the way to go!
.. on the Anderson & Oaks? have you a loose screw in your head? count me in!
No, no... that's 120Ks with 3300m climbing - are you mental!? (paging John!)
Just up would do as a nice warm up I think (60Ks/2000m)
Just to the hospital then... (on the way up)
Either way, tar or dirt, I'm in serious need of milage... want the second 50km feel as good as the first...
and I like the sound of it, Glenbrook-Wentworth Falls and back before the bakery shuts would do it for me, another ride I'd like to do is from the train station at Lithgow to the start of the six foot track and go through to Katoomba or Woodford if time/energy allows I'm not sure of how many kms it is, but I suspect Rob and his liking for electronics and maps could help me out:-) The main problem with this ride is the tar from Lithgow to the six foot track (30km?) but there's no closer train station and the ride would be better than the car shuffle it would take.
John
PS I could be tempted on the Woollongong ride before the angry doctor, Subway down there allows you to bring your bike inside while you eat as well.
Dave Noble describes a ride Lithgow, Bell, Mt Wilson, Mt Irvine, Bilpin, Mt Lagoon, Karajong, Richmond that he says is a hard 100km http://members.ozemail.com.au/~dnoble/Sydneyride...
Both Dave and Tim Wardrop have the Glenbrook to Wenny and back again at 12okm http://www.ar.com.au/%7Ewardrop/andooaks.htm
This one http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/activity/2605125 and back via the highway would give you around 150km
