Come Rain or Shine:
If it's raining, I won't be there.
Ride Database Entry:
Winmalee
Meeting Point:

Behind the nursery on Hawkesbury rd.

Details:

Friday afternoon/evening ride around Winmalee.
To change things up a bit we'll start near the nursery and ride the sniggle then down the Grotto. From here we'll head up to Shaw's, ride along Shaw's then down into Bluegum. The challenge is going up Bee's Nest and make it past the last left hander, then on to the lookout. Return via Springwood Ridge and reverse sniggle.
Lights are probably not necessary, however Ill be putting at least my bar light on just in case.
Not too keen if it rains as the sniggle and grotto suffer badly in the wet.
See you there........

Good one Todd - where's the best place to park? Last time I parked at the start of the Single track.

BM Epic's picture

Where you parked before is probably best, i have just been down there and trimmed it back, should be fast and dangerous, Jeff is coming and maybe Mel!

See you all there, sounds like a good loop to bust out.

I second the motion! Great ride, great company. Must climb Bees Nest before I die Sticking out tongue

Yeah, nice ride guys.
My belated New Years Resolution is to ride Bee's Nest. I felt good today but just got offline on the hardest bit. I started out real easy and used middle ring for the calm before the storm that is the last left hander to get my heart rate and breathing down. I was actually feeling pretty strong hitting the 3rd rise just before the corner and thought I had it this time but hit a couple of baby heads, got offline and couldn't get it back.
Thanks for turning up, its a nice group ride round Winmalee I think.
Catch up again soon guys.

With my level of fitness i knew not to try bees nest, but that ride is sooo good, i loved the cescent to the grotto, so dangerous, the blue gum switchbacks are sooo fast and fun, then the techy fast run through the rocks to top it all off.
My guess is we did about 35kms?? any body got a measurement?
Great times guys!
Myself, Jeff and Mel are doing a mixed 3's next weekend at the 4hr, Giles and Ian should do it together!

Not quite that far Todd even though it felt like it! - GPS says 24 and that includes me riding down the start of the single track and back up as a warm up. If anyone wants the GPX file, PM me your email address.

It was either 32 or 34 km from and back to my place I can't remember and couldn't be bothered going out the the garage to check properly!
Its a nice tricky run down the grotto, would be nice to clear them trees out from the bottom.
I'm a bit nervous about racing but I want to give it a go eventually...........

It is a nice ride through the grotto. It is awesome to walk through when flooded. The good thing about the trees across the track is they keep the moto's from getting through!

I think you Ian, and Giles are not far off from clearing bees nest, just that last pitch to go, your fitness is way up there now, so any day soon!
