Get a Cannondale
Dear "The Pannicar",
I would suggest that if you have enough money (like if you for example are an investment banker, photocopier sales person, master of Industry or Private School Teacher) that you look no further than the Cannondale range. They have the ideal bike for all styles.
As for your question "Who is this Jedijunglebunny anyway?" he is a mad dude that rips up the trails. I am not really friends with him (I have spoken with him a couple of times but it is rather hard to get to know him as he usually has quite alot of people around him asking him for riding tips or his phone number). I did take a photo of him riding one day which I can send as soon as I work out how to attached to this site.
He rides a Cannodale Gemini which is my dream bike.

You make me blush with your bike envy!
Yes Pannicar, Cannondale's are not cheap. They are the kind of overpriced boutique bike that I always aspired to own. My friends at the cafe were right in recommending one. To be honest my rear shock is a piece of cr@p, but I am well aware that the money I was paying went into the Cannondale decals. However the fact that you and others think my bike is cool is all that matters to me
Cannondales for ever!!
do you actually ride your Cannondale in the bush or simply to the cafe for your latte and pose time?!!
if you want to know of good downhill stuff better speak to Gaz, he knows lots too...
You're funny - of course I ride it in the bush, just no where too far ( like no more than between 5 - 10 kms at a time). I also like to rip it up around Collaroy Plateau.
Although I can't deny the pose factor and a good Latte! You might see me at Sea La Vie at Dee Why beach if you're lucky!
Hey, junglebunny, do you have a fan club we can write to?
You've given the game away about the Gemini, but as we all know, the one true way of the 'dale is the Lefty. Why don't you get something with a Lefty that you can ride for more than 5 mins at a go?
After all, what's better than one Cannondale? Two!
Rob,
You make some good points. About the fan club and the Lefty.
I have a friend that has a Cannondale Prophet with a lefty but he took it off and replaced it with a Marzocchi 66 (which is a great fork) because he kept crashing (just trying to do things that bike was not designed for). He often lands on his head (once at Thredbo he had grass hanging out the top of the air vents in his helmet).
He is known as "Crash Bandicoot".
Crash Bandicoot, are you out there????
P.S I am looking for a "Factory Hook Up". Anyone know who is sponsoring at the moment?
Does this Crash Bandicoote want to sell his Lefty then? I could put it on my Gemini, it may make up for the el cheapo rear shock I have there at the moment.
Hey Pottz it sounds like you must have been to Thredbo then? I did the beginner's course there once, but it was a bit beyond me (kind of like trying to ride 100kms), plus no one else had Cannondales (thinking maybe true downhilling is a bit beyond my bike).
I did have a lovely latte though at The House of Ullr.
Hey - if this crash dude has the Lefty (it'd be a 'Max', right?) then dibs on it. What's he want in exchange? A handful of beans and some compost?
Could slap this on the old Jekyll for some laid back ridin' fun
In that case, what you need to do is turn that little dial marked, 'rebound' a bit.
Hmmmm... damping goodness!
So they must be good!
Plus the guy selling them down at Brad Addiction said they were super stiff and plush ( unlike my rear shock I might add).
I'll have some cinnamon on mine thanks,
guys guys guys and girls
you are all wrong!!! first of all you dont need to save ALL of your hard earned cash to own a cannondale,
I went to this places called toys 'r us and got a bike with front and back shockies for the great price of $12.95
I went for a ride to the coffee shoppee to get some bland 43, when all the lycra clad blokes laughed at me with their pointy fingers in the air....
I was shocked and went home to cry, and cry i did,
the very next day (i pulled a sickie from the milk run i do) and went to Brad Addiction to get myself some "Cannondale Stikas"
in orange cause all the new bikes had 'em.
I hastily went home and applied these stikas to my steed, and waited and waited and waited until the next sunday when i could go for a ride around the block fresh cup of coffee.
Lo and behold I am now the envy of all my new friends at the coffee shoppee.
Little do they know if you look very very closely you can see the huffy stickers hidden by the new ones.
the guys are telling that if i own a bike like mine i should shave my arms and legs for maximum wind resistance....what should i do?
Is this a good idea?
If you really, really want to fit into this crowd.
To get maximim wind resistance I find you don't have to shave your legs ( although I never developed that much through puberty so I think I may have a slight natural advantage here ), but I do find wearing tight mesh "lizard @rse" pants and a mesh top is very effective.
You do unfortunately look a bit weird, but if you ride a Cannondale I believe you can get away without people thinking you're some kind of gimp.
And Mr Dreggsy I don't understand the point of your post, sorry, we are here to be constructive and not take the micky ( which I am assuming you are ). Sorry, I had a chuckle but it just wasn't that that helpful.
when i first read the thread i thought you were all taking the mickey out of cannondales and lefties in general.
then while i was writing my response a whole lot of sensible posts came up like 10 or so.
I should actually hook up with you guys for a ride some time.
i'll try to be constructive next time
glad i made you chuckle though.....
Would never take the mickey out of anything Cannondale related!
Come down to Sea La Vie and you can see how good my bike is ! (not counting the rear shock).
do you cannondale riders ever get your bikes dirty?
Now that made me chuckle
We don't like to... but if we didn't then couldn't do this:
Man, that's sexy...
Hey Rob how do you insert images? I have a ripper of the 'jedi' at Red Hill.
http://nobmob.com/node/add/image
Erm... someone will moderate and then when they go public you can insert in here with some <img src="/system/files... trickery.
I have already uploaded to the image gallery, just thought there might be a way to insert directly into a post.
for that photo should be jediporn
That lefty of the Bandicoots is more like a pogo stick than a fork I'm afraid to say!
Well - I moved the banter to it's own topic... far better title
Goatman what photo of me did you uplaod? Where is it? I can't find it.
Is it the one where I am posing in my stylish ridng gear next to my sparkling clean Cannondale ( remember the one where I posed in such a position so that you could still see my hot bike but I was covering up the crappy rear shock)?
...taken on my camera phone of the ladder drop at Red Hill. Just waiting on the OK from the person who moderates images. There was some concern regarding jediporn I believe
I remeber the one, when you said ladder I actually thought you said latte so I went for it!
...are like most 4wd owners - they don't want to scratch them or get them dirty.
Dear little precious things!
u will break ur "pisiform" before u break a NORCO Bike!!
Bernd
Nah, that's the sort of Cannondale Bruce owns you're thinking of Ditty.
Rob... who fell of twice on his new, "I'm not going to ride it where I'm likely to fall off", XC bike on the weekend 'cos that stuff really should only be ridden on the old, "This one's for punishing" bike.
....skinny Cannondales, now thats sexy!
Pink skinny Cannondales?
=;o)
Recent Cannondale owners such us us should check this out

looks like there is a problem boys and girls.
Not happy, but at least didn't find out the hard way!!
Is this what happens when you get right handed people assembling left handed forks? Love the pogo sticks!
Even the best have their faults...
=;o)
