GT Bikes?
Is it me or are GT bikes unpopular? I was at Stromlo on the weekend and a race was on - I didn't see 1 GT bike...fleets of Giants, Trek, Specialized etc, Was I not looking hard enough? I've fallen in love with a GT Sensor 2.0 and I just feel like I'm miss informed about something?... We then headed over to Sparrow hill for a loop and I still didn't see any... What am I missing? :s

They have to be the most underrated bike on the market.
I reckon they are speced as good or better than the major brands and ride heaps better.
I've got the Marathon Elite and can't rate it highly enough.
I have a gt force , cannot fault it and praise it high enough.Really sucks up the bumps , great when pedalling up hill and flies when going down hill . The only fault maybe is it seems to be hard when parts are needed it seems that some parts are hard to find . Other than that a great bike .
Having spoken to a few stores, the GT's and Dale's supply is limited and only trickling into OzStraya
It had more so to do with last year's range being rushed out by both companies with pricing points for both their flagship rigs being not right either.
Cant say much for GT's but the Dale's RZ range was a bit of a flop with most riders feeling like they rushed it out by throwing parts together after the success of the Rize's.
I've ridden the GT Force and its a good solid all mtn rig but I wouldnt be racing them as the config of the cockpit area feels narrow and closer to the body, but thats cuz I've been riding Dale's for so long .
With Giant and Specialised churning them out in chunks and Giants components being the best value for money, you'll find most riders sticking to these brands for a while.
Gt Zasker Hardtail - very stiff / light alloy frame and fast.
A little unforgiving on the rough stuff - but great for the fire trail blasts. Well spec'd with full slx as standard.

More to do with the new distributor dropping the ball when they took over mid last year.
I can't rate the bikes highly enough... The Distributors I'll reserve judgement on 'til they show they can make amends this year.
what GT has a new distributor?-how many is that for GT in Aus?-good luck getting spare parts for old models.
Since we removed that plastic cassette flying saucer off it
I have a GT force carbon and it is a great bike! Compared to my previous bike that was a Giant the quality of the GT is worlds apart - not to mention all the GT bikes look damn sexy!
There are various reasons as to why GT has had limited success in Aus, but all of them are distribution related, it has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of their products.
Thanks everyone for their insight - I wouldn't have known the reasons otherwise.
A distribution problem I can live, a quality issue not so easy to live with - but it seems that's not the case. So I am now seriously considering purchasing my GT Sensor 2.0 and looking forward to it! Completely agree with Haydos - tell me this isn't sexah! http://www.gtbicycles.com/bikes/mountain/enduran...
Damn thats a good looking bike! Im sure you will love it!
I ride a GT as does the missus. No problems here...
