A nice tribute to Willo and a great race
A well organised race run by a group of people who should be very proud of the event as it was a great way to remember the impact Willow had on so many people.
I didn't have the best week leading up to the race after playing my first game of soccer in 5 months. Zero training does have its consequences. My legs feel better today than they did all last week so wasn't sure how I would go in the race. Got a good start and then struggled on the first lap. Andy passed me and the group I was with and then powered away up one of the hills. I seemed to spend most of the race on my own, passing the slower 50k riders on my second lap and then getting passed by the 50k leaders. Pretty sure Tate passed me in his Scott gear near the end of the second lap but by the time I had worked out it was him he was too far up the track to say hello.
I found the track conditions improved each lap although I got progressively slower each lap. Happy to finish 35 minutes behind the quick guys and didn't have any bike or cramping problems.
Cathy, my wife finished her first 50k race in 10th place, 3 of here friends also finished and the other pulled out after the first lap.
Already looking forward to next year.

amd congrats to the wife too.
I saw you pushing your way forward at the start and thought should I try and get forward as well, next time I will do that.
The Singletrack was just sensational, I was thoroughly enjoying every single bit of it as I was racing which was great.
well done mate must have been abit warm on that third lap I know I couldn't have done a third, great result for your wife too.
