Awaba start point???
Just a quick one - thinking of heading up to Awaba for the first time next weekend, and have no idea where the start point is?! I've seen a few references to Jenkins and Mt Faulk Roads, but can't seem to find a definitive answer! Any help is much appreciated!!!

start where you start. as soon as you drive in the gate there is an access point, otherwise, go to the main carpark and have fun.
You can't miss it. There are signs at the intersection of mount faulk rd, and again on mount faulk rd at the entrance of the park. Follow the fire trail to the first car park, then there is a sign at the trail head. More signs throughout the trails, so you can't get lost, you can just enjoy it.
I relied on Navman to get me from Pokolbin to Mt Faulks Rd last Saturday. Lucky I was driving the Prado, as it took me out through Kitchener, Quorrobolong and up over the Watagans to the other end of Mt Faulks Rd and then down to the trackhead. Nice drive, but left me with a bit less time at Awaba than I'd hoped.....
If you're coming from Sydney, aim for the Cooranbong end of Mt Faulks Rd.
Do you want me to ask the Minister for Recreation if we can pass a bill allowing me to post a ride and show you around Awaba this weekend?

I assume you mean the XC trails and not the DH start.
There are two (small) fluro yellow signs that point the way.
One is at the Cooranbong end of Mt Faulk Rd, and the other is about 2km(?) up Mt Faulk road. If the road turns from bitument to dirt, you've just missed the turn off.
did you do any mtb'ing in Pokolbin?
a big family get together, so just did dinners, breakfasts, wineries... Wanted to try Awaba so nicked off with the bike while the women folk did the facials / pedicures / massages. Aside from the "cycle path" that runs along MacDonalds Rd, is there anywhere to ride around there?
no real proper singletrack(will get back to building some this winter-now that I know proper techniquies) but there is some crazy rough steep/techy fireroads out there!.Pokolbin Mountain Rd to the lookout is a 20min+ granny ring climg followed by a 5min big ring blast down.PM me if you are heading up there again for some other spots.
Thanks everyone for the replies!!
Looking forward to hitting the trail!!
will do if I get up that way again. I drove out via Mount View Rd and Bimbadeen Rd on Sunday, so I've got an idea of the terrain you're talking about. It does get pretty steep thereabouts.
