Enter via Red Hill Rd, Ourimbah State Forest. On your right will be 'TreeTops' for the kids and it's large-ish carpark. Carry on past there and the first small clearing which is were parking used to be, and is where the 'Browns' single track turns (you might see riders on your left here). Please do not park in this car park.

Parking and official trail head is now designated a further 350m or so up the road where there is a larger area. There's a CCOMTB notice board here by the trail entrance (on the left as you drive up the hill). Park up nose to curb or as directed.

I am road racing in Newy on Saturday so I would imagine my legs are gonna be toasted from that, however I will still be there!

Thinking i should give this a go, only going to enter D Grade but at least I'm giving it a go. If anyone wants a ride up I'm leaving from Hornsby and I have a spare rack and seat in the car.

Murray.

sounds bigger than a world 24 hr event, must be a good club race

Looking decent for Sunday I think.

A little erosion has exposed some rocks and it's a bit rough in a few spots but it's nice and dry and there's been some interesting work done on the track

Trev's picture

It.s a top way to spend a Sunday morn. See you up there Smiley Smiling

I've been meaning to do one of these for ages and now might just be the time. What grade is everone going in?

Rob's picture

@linco... you'll be at least B grade mate... maybe even A. No sandbagging Sticking out tongue

Discodan's picture

Not because I'm a gun rider but I want the extra distance of 3 laps rather than the 2 that C grade does.

Logan's picture

Hoping to carry over some decent form with a bit of luck.

Trying not to have to clean the Mtb too much before the Mont!

Where's the road race?
LACC have a crit on Saturday arvo if you wanted to do that and ourimbah on Sunday.

ps's picture

there is a west head time trial on sunday morning

GAZZA's picture

I heard it was a handicapped race(and no, not the special olympics!)
C grade off first, Chased down by B grade, Chased down by A grade.
so each group has to work together to catch the group in front.
Should be a blast!

Logan's picture

More like a Sunday morning in the locker.

linco's picture

Looks like B grade it is then. Looking forward to seeing you all there!

was up the coast today for a recon run since I'd only been there once before. Track is in pretty good nick, only 1 damp spot and a few loose sandy spots. The rocks are still hard in the Roller Coaster area as I found out in an OTB manner! now try and straighten the deralier hanger and get my gear working right,,,,,,,,,,,

I love the consistency of the winner, 4 laps within 20 secs of each other. That's just showing off

I'm not going to even start making excuses for my DNF Sad

It's a shame the next round's on Mothers day, I'm assuming numbers will be down a bit due to those of us who need to put in a good show at home

Logan's picture

I am road racing in Coota.
