Transporting a bike

Can anybody recommend a good courier for transporting a bike from Melbourne to Sydney.

Time is not an issue, but arriving damage free is.

Not sure if you are flying with the bike back yourself. But if you are I believe Virgin Blue allows you to check in a bike and have it only add 5kg towards your luggage allowance.

Of course I guess how safe the bike will arrive depends on the bike case it comes in.

I shipped my roadie up from Melbourne... It was "professionally boxed"... (someone took it apart and put it in a box) and I had no dramas...
=;o)

A colleague at work bought a bike on eBay had a bike shipped by TNT that arrived cling wrapped to a pallet (it was allegedly sent in a box) and not even the brake levers were salvagable (it was allegedly in perfect condition when dispatched).

TNT deny any liability.

They are not my first choice.

Thanks, Greyhound sound good - a couple of days from Melbourne and not stuck under a tonne of other packages.

I'll look into it
