Hans, with the amount of rain we have had here in Terrey Hills the trails are saturated, and it is forecast to continue raining tomorrow. Therefore sadly I'll be dropping out and heading to the gym for a spin class instead to try and get ready for dirtworks....

Brian's picture

This is for the following Wednesday and not tomorrow.

ben.archer's picture

Maybe I should check the dates more carefully, cheers.

Floydo's picture

Haven't done a Nobmob night ride yet.

I just cleaned up my drive-train from last week's relatively easy night ride. The brand new chain is still crunching with trapped sand....therefore I'll propose to let the trails dry out (hopefully), conserve our bikes and ride a week later. Water-logged Terrey Hills trails at night are no fun and expensive to your components. Will keep you posted.

See y'all next week. Smiling

Hans do you think with the lack of rain and the increase in wind that the trails may have dried out "enough"?
Im still keen to go if others want to.

ben.archer's picture

I have just wandered down to the Perimeter track entrance and it still looks damp, it is rideable but probably not worth the wear on the drive train. I'll be sitting it out and waiting.

@ Black Flash
Indeed today's weather was very tempting...but the TH track is still soggy - see Ben's comment above.

The ground is saturated - and we still have puddles in our own backyard from last week's rain...so I'll wait it out.

As I had canceled/postponed this week's night ride more than 4 days ago I suggest to leave it at the "postponed"status; and if you want, post another ride or contact/SMS the riders on the list and see if you someone's keen to join you.

Good luck! See you next week.

Another time sounds fine to me... Thanks for the response.

You do note that this meeting is next week, right?

Floydo's picture

maybe the following week if it is on

First time doing a proper ride with both my front and rear suspension rebuilt, and my first night ride not to mention riding for my first time with my riding lights Smiling

Looking forward to it...

ben.archer's picture

I hope you luckier than me, as every time I try to do that many things first time it requires a bloody big tool kit and a trip to the doctors to persuade me that maybe I should try one thing at a time.... Smiling

The tracks are finally drying out after the recent drenching and if it stays dry it should be a great ride, i'll look forward to seeing you there if I get back from Melbourne in time.....

Not going to make it this week due to a little accimadent and need for new tyres.

Can't join my own ride Sad

Have to pull out of this ride...my S.O. has to go interstate tomorrow ...and I'll have to stay home to tame the anklebiters.

I suggest that someone else with a bit of local knowledge leads the night ride; and if you guys ride Duckholes start from McCarrs Creek Road (near the Bush Fire brigade shed). See: http://nobmob.com/rides/duckhole Give the top 'single track part' from Mona Vale Road a miss - it was still very muddy last weekend.

Alternatively you guys could do Perimeter/Long Trail, ride along Booralie road to the Japanese school/Echunga Road roundabout and start from there (that way you bypass all the muddy bids if you'd start from Nerang road). Clear as mud! Have fun! I'll post another ride for next week...

Something came up and cant join anymore. Have fun.

It looks like they're dropping like flies. I'm planning on bringing someone else so at best we've got 5 riders (assuming Ben gets up from Melbourne). Given that, the dump of rain yesterday and that it's forecast to get bloody cold tonight I might suggest we push this back a week. What's the feel amongst the remaining attendees?

donovanprice's picture

Hi I am happy with it being posponed. I will not be able to make this one.

Thanks.

ben.archer's picture

Guys

Guys as I am far from guaranteed to make it (my flight only lands at 5:30) and I'll need to get home to Terrey Hills change and grab the bike.

Therefore if I posted a ride for tomorrow (Thursday the 12th) would there be interest? - I know it's short notice...

Discodan's picture

Or next Wed also works for me

Hans's picture

Next Wednesday works for me, too. Wed's is usually better at the Tavern, - less crowded, less cougars and you can use your 2 for one meal voucher...

If there are no takers for tonight, I can just change the date for this ride to next Wed, or you can post a new ride.

Cheers, Hans

ben.archer's picture

Lets post a new ride for next week then...

Black Flash's picture

I'll be in for next week.
