Check this out - 100 ker held in the The Redwoods - Whakarewarewa Forest, Rotorua New Zealand.

Basically 100km of riding single track - what a better way to see all that the Redwoods have to offer. There are 25km and 50km options also.

Could be a good replacement for the Angry Doctor in the event schedule, as race is on Saturday 22 October 2011.

A bit far to travel, but from what I can see of the course map, you basically ride a large % of what the forest has to offer in this single day.

Craked, you are not wrong, this is the toughest 100km race I have ever done. If anyone know Rotorua you know they have a few big hills in the redwoods. Basically this race climbs to the top of each big hill and rides most of the tougher ST on offer. The climbing is bad but with so much ST lags legs take a beating but the hardest part of all is the stress on the brain. It is forever working and thinking about line choice etc. The ST in Rotorua encurages you to ride it hard and fast alll the time but if /when you make a mistake it is going to hurt....
Rotorua is only a 3hr direct flight away once you are there things are pretty cheap too. If you have ever thought about doing this race then do it is AWESOME
