Hi

May seem a daft question but where would I get 30wt oil - motor suppliers, bike shop etc? Need some for a dropper seat post I'm servicing but never had to buy any before.

Cheers.

Motorbike fork oil can I believe be obtained in various weights. There's a motorbike service centre and dealership in Brookvale near the intersection at Beacon Hill Rd. Another option would be silicone shock oil for R/C cars from Dee Why Hobby Centre, which is more temperature stable although more expensive.

maybe try a 15/40 synth from motor bike shop ,I have #20 fork oil at work but not many suspensions use a #30 I think penrite may make HPR 30 engine oil also.

I frequently go to one of the motorbike shops. I have had good success with MCAS (www.mcas.com.au) as they seem to stock a wide range of lubricants and other stuff. They have a store in the city and in Parramatta.....

30 weight is very heavy and will be hard to find. Most motorcycles use 5 or 10 but you can get 20 wt for the older bikes but I've never seen 30 wt

I've just bought a new motorbike and was thinking about having a go at changing the oil myself, so looks like I can kill two birds with one stone.
