Just in need of some riding pants, shirt, socks etc... Where abouts is the best place to buy stuff like this, not looking to spend a fortune too.

Thanks everyone.

I buy a lot of that stuff off Torpedo 7 but I am a cheapskate!and not very fashion conscious.

i think that if you haven't bought cycling wear before you should always go to the local bike shop. Get fitted correctly. I spent $100's buying stuff online that really didn't fit properly before i fgured out what i should be wearing and how it was meant to fit.

Cycling wear comes in different cuts that suit specific purposes. most of it is cross purpose, however it is best to get into a shop and ask them what size, how it should fit, and tell me what kind of riding you do.

are both good value, the Aldi jerseys are pretty daggy but their knicks, socks etc are great value

I need a pair of shoes and some undies and I will be dressed by Aldi already having socks, jersey and knicks. The knicks probably aren't the best out there, but perfectly fine for me and the jersey seems fine too. The socks are pretty average as they have started wearing through already, but for a few dollars.......

I missed the last Aldi cycling sale. The jersey, while the same colours as the previous one I have, was a much nicer design.

but most bike shops don't stock much for the larger human. I get most of my stuff on-line from Torpedo 7 or NZO or Primal or when I enter the odd race. Gloves maybe from the LBS. A lot of the internet sites have sizing charts that give you a pretty fair idea of what should fit (esp. if you've got someone who can run a tape measure over you).

I've been quite a few times. It's excellent for jerseys, knicks, bibs, longs and cooler weather gear. First time I walked away with what I reckon was about $1200+ of gear for about $170-$200. Not sure when the next one is. It's usually around this time of year though. I'm supposedly on their email list but haven;t heard anything for quite some time.

I normally buy cycling clothes at the local cycling shops, but here is a link for some thought: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Categories.as...
