Is the best book around, easily explains what to do and is very easy to use.

I am a complete novice and managed to take out my cranks, bottom bracket and degrease, re grease and put everything back together with that book.

There was a really good magazine/publication (don't think it is Zen ...) which is another good alternative.

I started with only my multitool and built up my tool collection as I needed to. Wiggle and CRC are great for getting the right tools.

Also, You Tube clips are a good way to learn from other's mistakes. Hope Cycles have some good videos up there.

And remember, if it ain't broke, 'fix' it until it is.

Hey Ostro boy
Bike addiction hold repair and maintenance courses.

Type the following into the search bar "workshop on bike repair and maintenance" and you will see I started the exact same request. And how it all turned out.

Good luck.

Awesome quote, one I've always lived by. It's cost me a fair bit of cash over the years with cars and bikes but the knowledge gained is invaluable.

Renegade at lane cove run courses which are awesome for beginners (that'd be me). Learnt heaps about how the bike works and what to play with to make things happen. Give them a call and have a chat - it's well worth it!
