How wet is Lane Cove today?

Has anyone ridden Lane Cove today? If so please update the trail status. I'm planning to ride there tomorrow and Sunday... I'm guessing it will be pretty wet for the next few days.

I live a short distance from the de Burgh's bridge end. It's been dry here all day and windy as, but there is still water running in the gutters and sogginess everywhere it isn't tarred or concreted. LCNP will be pretty much the same, although the sandier bits will dry out pretty quick with another day of breezes like today.

...I'll stick to going up and down the steep bits tomorrow, and avoid the low-lying areas for now.

I back a creek not far from LC and ride LC there often. I can tell from looking how the water leaches out the ground over a rock at the creek exactly what LC will be like. It will be far too wet in the lower sections to be enjoyable unless you want to get wet and listen to that drive chain getting chewed sound.

A better option not that far from LC is North Turramurra, it's more exposed and follows the contour ridge so it dries faster. North facing mostly, and it's not sandy like Terry Hills can be. Also, you will see World Trail's container sitting there while they wait for the council to decide not to postpone commencement any longer. I hear council had the area benched which means there is a lack of cross fall... thus WT may need to create fall before putting in half benched trail. Can you get the feeling here that land mangers need more training on how sustainable trails are built (i.e. on a cross grade, not the flat?

Yeah, I ride there regularly too. When it's very wet I just go down Tomac Hill (Pennant Hills Firetrail), and then go up and down the nearby hill climbs which tend to stay pretty dry. Not the most exciting ride, but at least I'm in the bush and getting some exercise. I've never ridden North Turramurra, but will give it a try sometime soon.
