Foggy Morning Intro Ride
Hi guys
I am an absolute novice to Mountain Biking - I just bought a bike and hopped on this morning at the Foggy Morning run (Quarry Rd). I didn't register but just turned up this morning, but obviously missed anyone riding? I know the trail pretty well from my running days, but the hills seemed a bit steeper on a bike, especially the uphills! I bought a Calnago Cx60 dual suspension - it managed to stay upright, but couldn't quite make it up every hill. Must've been the gears!
I'm pretty keen to learn what I'm doing - I'm a danger to myself at present! I live on the Northern Beaches, and am reasonably fit (a worn-out Runner) and looking to take up a new obsession, but not sure that I'm up to the next "quick social" ride over 50k in July! Happy to give it a go and slog along behind though.
Do people normally pre-register for these events?
Cheers

Hi... A lot of locals were up in the blue mountains today at the W2G, which might be why there weren't many takers for this ride.
I actually haven't met the original poster (Shoryuken) but if you wanted to meet up then should have given plenty of notice and indicated you were 'In' on the meeting page. If you don't know the poster then a quick PM or post to confirm and introduce yourself could be a bonus.
Maybe the poster saw a lack of interest and changed plans? Who can tell.
BTW - don't be shy. On a usual weekend if you post that you want to ride somewhere and give plenty of notice (post mid-week for the weekend) then you will usually get takers to join you and show you around.
Hey Guys.
I made the original post for the ride. I saw there wasnt much interest for the ride and rocked up a little bit later.
Sorry to have missed you
Im always up for a ride at Dural, especially from the Quarry road end. Ill most likely be there a few times this week.
The place has alot to offer, from the main fire trail to hidden single track which hasnt been used in ages.
......Sent you a pm s.lowndes.
I usually do the same ride about every fortnight on early Sunday mornings from the Stewart Ave end. Feel free to sign up next time, though I be aware that I generally do it at a fairly brisk pace. Just make sure you sign up, as if nobody plans to come, I also might be there at slightly different times.
