Coffs Road Trip

Hi all,

To get the Coffs weekend off to a great start, I thought we should organise a Coffs Road Trip. Myself and Lee will be leaving Hornsby sometime around 6:30 a.m.

Does anyone else want to make a NobMob convoy? We can stop off for a healthy breakfast (ehem, fried big breakfast) on the way. So who's in?

Bring on Coffs!!
Laughing out loud

are heading up Friday. I have alow patience threshold and want to avoid as much traffic as possible. Besides that we apparantley have to stop at antique shops on the way, go figure, and here I was thinking it would be a faster trip without the wife and kids. We'll try and scope out somewhere to ride Saturday arvo for when you get up there.

Liam, we can meet up at the freeway entrance around 6:30, or meet you later for breakie. When/where did you want to stop for that? I have no idea about any decent road houses on the way.

Who you driving up with, BTW? Lonesome?

See ya on the road...

Stuart, good luck m8! Eye-wink

Myself and Lee are shacking up in his Freelander. More room than my beast.

Rob, having discussed with Bruce only the basics of this plan, we think the Hexham area is probably as good an area as any. That is about 1/3 race distance. They have lots of roadside diners there, plus some people can fill up if required, or stop and stretch their legs. We can tee up a lunch when we arrive at Coffs. I think it is a great idea to be at the Hornsbt/F3 turn-off at around 6:30 am. That will work nicely.

Stu, sounds like you will have a very entertaining road trip there. I sincerely regret that I did not put my name down for car pooling with you lot. I will especially miss that exhilerating discussion of antiques. Too bad for me. Curse my philistineliness. And don't forget to stop for a tea break! Are you taking ear plugs?

BTW, we should arrive about 1-2pm ish for a ride.

Make sure you wear your cloves of garlic to make sure you don't melt away.

Should be OK for us, if things get too bad I can always put her in the third row of seats with my bike and the luggage. The other benefit is there's always the possibility I could now come back with a nice piece of jewellery, heavily discounted of course, for the better half. Shit this could offset the new wheelset... now where was that T7 link

On a serious note we used t stop at the Oak dairy at Hexam. Best shakes borth of Freemans waterhole (which was also an Oak dairy). Mind you that was about 20yrs ago so I suspect things have probably changed by now, can probably only get the shakes in a carton now.

Don't forget the roof-rack. Plenty of space there. But don't tell her I said that, she will kill me. It will be our secret. Laughing out loud

Stuart M's picture

Oh s#$t am I going to cop it now.

christine's picture

I shall come along armed with an antique dictionary / books / magazines and a healthy voice box and attempt to educate you - the WHOLE way!!!
Liam - you just WAIT until I see you next...

Rob's picture

Guys, surely you've got a roll of gaffer tape, right?

Evil

Little-Ditty's picture

Looks like I will have to make myself scarce at Coffs. There is nothing like a woman scorned! Sticking out tongue

Rob, what would you do with the gaffer tape anyway? I was just assuming that you would tie her up with it and gag her. Anything else will be left to your imagination. Smiling

(Lucky for me C is not staying at the caravan park. Otherwise there could be consequences)

christine's picture

if I liked being tied up? hmmmm?!!

increased wind resistance and increased co-efficient of drag ...

OK! Now...please can NO ONE ASK GEORGE ABOUT HIS BLOODY INTERNET! it sends him into a rage - if you ask, he joins you in your car...and he will be worse than me - believe me!

ar_junkie's picture

He still hasn't got it sorted yet?

Good thing we're going up on Saturday... Eye-wink

Stuart M's picture

Thought it might drown you out

christine's picture

and has spent HOURs on the phone - last night he packed it all up to throw away and says 'he is at the end of his tether'
truly - it's an off limits subject - he is totally humourless about it!

Rob's picture

Now what has changed? I shall give him a call and sort him out. I hate to see mates in the technological wilderness! Eye-wink

Stuart M's picture

How about dinner Saturday night? Seeing most of us are staying at Sawtell why not hit the local
Italian restaurant for a big pasta/carbo feast with red wine antioxidants to wash it down.
Any takers ?

ar_junkie's picture

Sounds good mate, never been up this way so I'm open to suggestions... menu suggestions that is!
Eye-wink

Rob's picture

Bring on the Italian goodness. You know a place? Table for 16, sir? Eye-wink

craigs's picture

Sawtel is a little on the slow side and if you go to the pub do not under any circumstances wear lycra!

Little-Ditty's picture

Bruce can wear his helmet with the name tag on it. Sophisticated.

Bruce's picture

I promise to take the name tag off somewhere between the pub & race start Laughing out loud

ar_junkie's picture

If you wear lycra at the pub, someone will take it off for you...
Eye-wink
