Ride Sunday 1 July morning
Hi all,
I'm looking for other person(s) that would like to do a ride at that time. I was thinking of hitting one of the following tracks but i'm open to suggestion and flexible depending on where other interested parties like best. Time is also felixible but i was thinking about 8/9 am first thing. This could be a good ride for those that live nearer the north shore than the northern beaches to get together (i'm at hornsby). I like to ride moderate pace (old ladies needn't come), although i'm limited to my hardtail (so not too granly downhill) and i haven't riden for a few weeks. I'm intending to ride for a couple of hours (that's usually enough for me at moderate pace). Sorry about the late notice...if you're keen just post and i'll be checking regularly or phone me (my mopho number should be public). I'LL CONFIRM FINAL DETAILS BY POST AT LEAST ONE HOUR BEFORE THE RIDE TOMORROW so check back then. Hope you can make it!
1. Dural XC course - desc. not on this site; private land owned by manly mtb club; random single track circuit; generally flatish (no big acsents or descents); generally very technical; it would be nice to introduce some nob mobs to this track.
2. Cascades (see northern beaches ride description). We could do a few laps.
3. Bahai temple downhill would be wicked. It's an exhilirating single track downhill that isn't described on this site because it's kind of underground reputation i think. we probably need a crew of 3 people + to do this and a car able to carry bikes to avoid the killer uphill road return ride. sorry i don't have a tow bar to carry bikes).
4. Manly Dam - old faithful; ~2 laps.
5. Ourimbah - XC section (i don't think i'll like DH rock gardnes too much on my hardtail). i haven't been there before. further away but i could be quite easily pursuaded into a little drive up the freeway if that's what the people call out for. i could take one other in my car with bikes in boot.
Phew! i think that's it covered. look forward to any interest. weather forecast for sun is good.

Just read your post about doing a ride, obviously missed the day mentioned but up for doing a ride soon if you want.(or anyone) Fairly new to sydney (pomme) been her since dec06. Enough to notice the quality riding about though. I had a hardtail , but recently gone full suss and keen to get out! Did a blue mountains trip last weekend plus others, but would be cool to hook up with some others to go out. Id be grateful to hear from any like minded folks up for some weekend rides ,or after work as im a carpenter and finish at 3.15pm..love it here!!
Prefered riding would be cross country ish leaning towards the more technical side got 661's so ill give it all a go!.
Thanks
matt
