BMC 100km Classic: Woodend VIC – 20th April 2008

From the creators of the popular Dirt Works 100km Classic comes another cross country MTB endurance event, set amongst some of the best MTB trails in Victoria. The BMC 100km Classic will be staged from the picturesque Cammeray Waters at Woodend in Victoria, only one hour’s drive from central Melbourne and 40 minutes from the airport. The event is scheduled for the 20th April 2008, with entries opening in early December ‘07.

The course will traverse the popular riding locations of the WombatStateForest and LerderdergState Park with up to 50% single track and absolutely no tarmac, guaranteed! Riders will have the option to ride the full 100km or the 50km half course. The BMC Classic is hosted in association with the Castlemaine Rocky Riders MTB Club ensuring an intimate knowledge of the area and local trails.

Double Century of Dirt

Competitors will have the opportunity to ride a “Double Century of Dirt” by competing in the BMC 100km Classic in Victoria (20 April) followed by the Dirt Works 100km Classic in NSW (4 May), only two weeks apart. Maximum Adventure is offering special discounts for all riders entering the “Double Centurion” category, with prizes up for grabs for the fastest combined times across both events.

BMC is the major sponsor of the event and will provide over $20,000 worth of product prizes. Cash prizes will be awarded in the Elite categories. Entries for the BMC 100km Classic will open in December ’07. Keep an eye on www.maxadventure.com.au for more details.

What a great idea, two 100km rides in two weeks. How good would it be if someone could put a whole series of these events together, imagine a series of four 100km races with all times going to a grand total.

I am game if anyone else is!
