YETI FREAK Menai Close everywhere out there The meeting was an opportunity for "representatives" of all stakeholder groups to state their case in regard to how the land is managed. Various sections of the cycling fraternity were represented, as were local residents, local police (not AFP,...

Is this an open invitation or a select few ... who is taking the lead and what local residents are involved.

I've started up a user group SSORC and have been contacted by a few locals, but happy to pass the baton.

I'd appreciate a PM if I'm needed. likely best to have a concerted and coordinated approach.

Hopefully a subtle consultative approach will be productive. Thanks to those attending for volunteering your time. Look forward to hearing the outcome.

Hey guys, sad to hear whats happening at Lucas Heights. I am a 50yr old local and have been riding those trails for 14yrs. If you need any support let me know. I would love to be there if they decide to open meeting to the public. Thanks

Hi guys... OK. I just hope you guys know what your doing... which by definition means... you have sort leagl advice and better yet, are intending to attend the meeting with legal council..even if only purely as an observer.. right?
This is ANSTO we are talking about.

Seeing as how it's not an open meeting for everyone, I will still be there in spirit!

The meeting is by arrangement only and frankly there is no need for the presence of legal counsel. As trespassers we have no right whatsoever to use the land and likewise ANSTO, like any other property owner, has the right to decide to whom they will allow entry. There is no legal recourse.

You really need to understand our position; to have any hope of being permitted access to these trails we will be relying purely on ANSTO's generosity. Essentially, anything ANSTO give us is a gift.

that we are fighting for the right to mtb, next to potentially one of the most dangerous sites to our health in OZ.

maybe there are a few real reasons they have an exclusion zone?

Slowman, 100% agreed on that.

We are there to build a relationship and after checking ANTSO's planning approvals and their Plan of Management it is clear that it does not currently provide for mountain bike access.

Sutherland Shires Local Environmental Plan and environmental overlay also shows threatened species in the area.

Will report back tonight after meeting or in morning.
