This has been cancelled
http://www.southernhighlandscc.com.au/
figured this would be cancelled, maybe I will just keep driving till I hit Canberra nice and dry down there.
dry down the A.C.T hey?, if it was a lot closer to Newcastle it would be perfect.
Southern Highlands Cycling Club (SHCC) unfortunately reached a decision to cancel this event as a result of the continuous rain, which although not as much as Sydney, still resulted in the course being awash on the Friday. In order to maintain our integrity with the local stake holder, this being the local council, a decision was made to cancel the event. It was a hard call, as the track normally is quite rideable soon after rain, as it drains really quickly. The forecast was looking to be clearing by the Sunday, and in fact it was pretty clear, and the track was fine... Long and short - we're sorry for any inconvenience caused and are disappointed that the event was cancelled, (we will try to run something in the summer calendar, such as a day-nighter or enduro, which we will advertise), but in the end have made a good impression with the local council by looking after the track. (This may auger well for the future...) We look forward in seeing any riders who may wish to come down this way at any time. Cheers. Keith.
